TRANSFORMERS

I just got home from an 8pm first showing of this movie. I took my 10 and 5 year old kids and they loved it! I must say, I wish the movie was out when I was a youngster. But late its better than never! Great flick Lotsa explosions, but the violence was mostly metal exploding or being shot up. Stronly recomended for those of you still stuck in your childhood like me.

My friends and I decided there was something very Godzillian about that preview.

Hmmm after reading the reviews on here maybe I'll give the movie a try.

I figured it would be a total bust & pass on it till it came out on DVD or pay per view.

I did enjoy the cartoon & such and as long as you guys are giving it anything close to a thumbs up is enough for me to take a bank loan out & take the family to see it!

I figured as much as what everyone is saying.

Come on, people. It's Michael Bay. The man is a TERRIBLE artist, but he's a great action director. He is the epitome of "popcorn flick". Michael Bay = formula.

That said, I'll probably see it. His stuff is better on the big screen than it is on video. But I won't expect more than a two-hour waste of time to the cinema. I don't expect to discuss the social significance of TRANSFORMERS on the drive home, much like I don't ever bring up Bad Boys and The Rock when I discuss the artistic greats of our time.

On an unrelated note... Michael Bay must die. He's producing a remake of The Birds. I hate him.

I saw it last night and your expectation is about right. My main thought is it was the epitome of a "boy flick". Take your son and leave your adult view of the world behind. It is a great flick to get lost in your youthful imagination.

There are no serious emotional scenes to work through, but there is plenty of action and suspense. It should win awards for the computer animation. I had a great time with my 13 year old son making it well worth the money. This is a movie I plan to add to my DVD collection when it becomes available.

Saw it last night as well... Really enjoyed it. 98% male 18-30. The place was full of potheads too.....

The movie was about what I expected. Action from start to finish... cheesy one-liners... some very well placed humor.... and kick ass CGI battles.

The story wasn't too deep, but it had a good pace. They didn't quite put enough character into some of the Transformers... some of the characters were lacking personality compared to cartoons we're used to. The did very well with the human actors. Quite a few parts were really played perfectly. Shia LaBeouf was borderline annoying though...

Overall, I came away impressed, and will surely own the movie...

Ohh and they left room for a sequel......

Apparently I'm just too old to be a Transformers fan. A friend of mine who is about 10 years younger than me was going nuts about wanting to go see this movie tomorrow, and I told him that I basically didn't give a crap. He looked at me like I had just announced that I hated puppies.

Zero interest in seeing this. Perhaps I'll watch the DVD one day.

I'm kinda with you. I'm not just frothing at the mouth to see it. But I'll probably go eventually, but it will NOT be this week or next.

Im the same way. I was probably a little too old to play with the toys at the height of their popularity in the mid 80's.

The movie looks cool and all with lots of typical Michael Bay military/action porn, so ill go see it just for that.
