Why did we give someone a 3yr deal who couldn't make four other teams' rosters and practice squads?

Who cares if it's 3 years if the price is right. You don't want to have some guy pan out unexpectedly great just in time to have to re-sign him, right?

So we should sign everyone to 3 year deals?

I'm going to get a three year deal with the Chiefs. I run a blistering 4.9 forty and am 5'-10" 175lbs. Ray Farmer won't quit calling me. Oh and did I mention I have hands roughly as good as Samie Parker but on the downside I won't run across the middle. I'm a shoe in for the 53 active squad.

My advice, answer Ray's 1st call then change your phone number. Pretend to run across the middle then alligator arm it. Learn to fetal like the QB I.E. Damon. Oh yea and say your a distant cousin of Bowe And when you get close enough to Herm, stab him in the eye. Then give Carl the finger and I'll give ya 20 bucks

Let's not get things twisted, ok?

You sign them to league minimum for 3 years, knowing that you might not get to really see what you have for the first year. You can cut them whenever you'd like. What's the downside? You won't keep them around if you don't like what you see, and if you do? You get a good cheap player for the first 3 years.

It's not rocket science, folks. Hell, I'd sign them to a 10 year contract at league min if it was allowed. Again. CUT them whenever you'd like.

I wish they'd put Herm and Carl on IR.
