But Calipari was perhaps most impressed with the attention the game received from the Chinese media. More than one hundred reporters and photographers were credentialed for the event, according to organizers. Even more impressive was the fact that the game (and the two ensuing contests) will be shown nationwide on CCTV.

"Think about this," said Calipari, "our game with Tennessee that was on ESPN in February was their most watched regular season college game ever - it had something like five million viewers. The people here tell me that these games (two of which are on tape delay and one that will be live) will have something like 15-20 million people watching. That's unbelievable. The reason it's "Team C-USA" has something to do with NCAA rules regarding the number of practices a collegiate exhibition team can run as opposed to a school's team in the offseason, or something like that. Plus Cal's good friends with Tulsa coach Wocjik and his former assistant and current UTEP coach Tony Barbee, so I'm sure he was happy to bring them and a couple of their players along.

Tulsa's Ben Uzoh is really solid. He jammed it down a couple of times. And not that a top 50 recruit is going to come out of nowhere, but Jeff Robinson is going to surprise some people next season. He's going to earn his way right into the starting lineup if he keeps playing like he's done against China.
