Pretty much how I see it. We had an 86 year old woman pass away last week at church. It was kind of unexpected, since she was is pretty good health overall - she was still independent, she drove, etc. She lived a very rich life (escaped from East Germany in '55) and had incredibly strong faith. She frequently spoke of dying and had no fear of it. The way she passed away (respiratory infection, sick for less than a week) was probably about as easy as anyone could ask for.

Heeeeeeeeeere's St Peter!

Honestly, I never understood Ed McMahon's role on that show. Why was he there? What did he do? He just sat at the end of the couch and laughed. That had to be the best job in the history of the world. More power to him for making a living that way, but ... wow. Good gig.

Sometimes you are a breath of fresh air.

Had a nice job and a nice life, RIP.

And I didn't want to come off mean there, I re-read it and kinda sounded it. That really sucks, and what I was trying to say was that we should let the people we love and care about know it so they don't do anything like this. My condolences to you and your friends though.

One of the best bits that Ed did was playing straight man for "Carnak the Magnificent." Carnak would provide the answer to a question sealed in an envelope, and placed in an old mayonaise jar on Funk and Wagnal's front porch, having never seen the question before.

Here's some Carnak A and Q's:

A: "A loaf of bread, a jug of wine and thou."
Q: Name three things that have yeast."

A: The Nestea Plunge.
Q: What does the president of Nestea use when his toilet is stopped up?

A: A, B, C, D, E, F, G.
Q: What were some of the earlier forms of Preparation H?

A: Shoo-be-doo-be-doo.
Q: What do you look for when you're tracking a shoo-be-doo-be?

A: Zippo Marx.
Q: What do you get when something gets caught in your Zippo?

A: Touchback.
Q: What's the smart thing to do if a Dallas Cowgirl touches you?

A: Kitchy-kitchy-koo.
Q: What do you call a military coup led by General Kitchy Kitchy?

A: Big Ben, Joe Namath and a candidate's campaign promises.
Q: What is a clock, a jock and a crock?

A : Sis Boom Bah
Q: What sound does a sheep make when it explodes?

A: Yassir Arafat
Q: What's the sound made when Dolly Parton removes her bra?

A: Donald, Benji, and Alexis Carrington
Q: Name a duck, mutt, and a slut.

A: "Catch-22."
Q: What do the Los Angeles Dodgers do with 100 pop flies?"

A: A triple and a double, catcher's and fielder's, and Dolly Parton"
Q: Name two big hits, two big mitts.....and a famous country singer!"

A: Dippity-do
Q: What collects on your dippity in the morning?

A. "Knickerbocker"
Q. "What do you want to avoid doing when you shave her bocker?"

Just remember Big Ed hosted "Star Search". The talent show long before American Idol.

Ed introduced us to Sinbad, Rosie O'Donnell as well as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake before Disney "discovered" them.
