:( Some Chargers News I Just Learned
Good news and Bad news

The Good: The Chargers are bringing in Jon Runyan to fill their empty RT position. Hopefully he passes a physical.

The Bad: According to Kevin Acee (Chargers Beat Writer), the Chargers are about to sign Norv Turner to a very long extension, possibly until 2014.

I found this all on a Chargers forum I frequent.

They've won the division twice (soon to be 3 times) and made the AFC championship game, so it's getting harder and harder to make fun of Norv. He's no Martyocre, that's for sure.

That's true, but at the same time, it seems like every year he's on the verge of losing the team entirely. Definitely not a top notch coach, IMO.

Your right, but look at his talent. I think you could throw in any coach and that team would be an automatic playoff contender. I still believe if they hadn't fired Marty they would have atleast went to the superbowl by now. And they might still have Drew Brees.

Fair enough, looking back to last year, but they're 7-3 right now. Hard to criticize that. They're probably going to win the division, and I think they're playing as well as anybody right now.

I thought it was going to be a great hire for the rest of the division, same as I wish they'd have hung on to Marty, but unfortunately he hasn't shit the bed. Yet.

What wrong with Rivers? Brees IS better, but Rivers is also 3 yrs younger. I dont think SD lost much letting Brees go.

They didn't lose too much, But Brees is by far a better leader and better person within the community than Rivers. Rivers has a habit of throwing a duck at times or lobing the ball. Brees might be the most precise QB in the game today. Marty hated the idea of trading for Rivers because he felt that Brees was still going to be his guy. Rivers could have been traded again pretty easily for another 1st round pick IMO.
