heirloom tomatoes- Ive never grown anything but early producers and genetic varieties, but these hierloom varaties have me intrigued.
I know some of you have gone over the diffrent varieties you like so these questions are for you.

What are the early producers(a hundred days is insane to me)? best varieties that are fungus and rot resistant? Most fruit? drought resistants? Afid/moth/leaf cutter resistance.
I like an acidic tomatoe with lots of seed pulp and soft flesh.
if i could just plant say two types what do you suggest?

i grew tomato's upside down one year I got dizzy most the time and couldn't tell the difference in the food

I can get whatever as i have honey holes located all over south missouri.

As far as bacon if you wanted to work something out i can maybe purchase a slab from a buddy of mine or if you wanna wait ill get you some sugar cured bacon after i slaughter my hog late november. It would be worth the wait cause my pops cure is unreal.

Isn't it crappie and bluegill time about right now?

I haven't donated any jigs in a long time. If you wouldn't mind revealing a hole, let's go fish.

IIRC the water has to be 60 somethin degrees for the crappie to spawn, THATS the good time. my FIL has a dock that has beds and is on the deadwater at truman dam. awesome spot. they pull limits everytime and in no time

You should order a catalog from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds. They're located in Mansfield, Missouri, which might be close to you. They have a great selection of heirloom seeds, if you want to try growing your own from seed next year.

Oh, and if you are going the heirloom route on the tomatoes, you might also want to try a row or two of heirloom carrots.

I planted some Cosmic Purple last year and they were really cool.

I've grown Abraham Lincoln heirlooms. They're indeterminate and tasty. I'm back to growing non-heirloom tomatoes now.

I always buy BIG plants. The growing season is short around here, so I need all the help I can get. Another tip some old farm gal gave me was dig deep holes when planting and bury at least half the plant. Any part of the plant underground, will produce roots. Just make sure you pull all the leaves off of the part of the plant you bury.

I've always had luck with Parks Whopper here in S.E. ks.
But I truely believe that the key is cow manure. It really, really works.
