Gawd D little black ants....Requesting the Planet's divine wisdom.
I bought a house this last fall and this is my first spring in it. Apparently it has started to be plagued with little black ants. I've tried the terro liquid baits and some basic home perimeter sprays, and they work for about a couple of days, but they still keep coming. Anyone here have any other ideas on how I can kill/get rid of the little ****ers?!

You need ant defenses, Mr. talastan. Here's a plan that has proven successful for centuries.

1. Acquire shovel.

4. Acquire tiny, little crocodiles.
5. Dig moat with shovel.
6. Stock moat with crocodiles.
7. Build wall with logs.

There is a product called "Orange Guard" that is safe for pets and kids that kills ants on contact, and it smells nice like oranges. I have been using it lately and it is great. Also windex with vinegar kills them on contact and scares them away for awhile.

Yeah, anything with ammonia will kill the little bastards on contact.

Another thing you might want to try is to create a small compost pile in some corner of your backyard (closer to the house would expedite the process). The ants will just go to the pile and will probably leave your house alone.
