It may stick in his craw that he failed at Notre Dame so, if the OC job is a steppingstone back to a college coaching job for the Gators or another big-time program, he might consider it, I'd think.

Frankly, I'm not sure it would be that great of a loss for KC. I've always been underwhelmed by Weis's streaky playcalling (great one game, shitty the next), and I think the improvement in KC's offense is due more to Cassel, Bowe, Moeaki, the running backs, and the O-line improvement--and I don't know how much of a hand Weis has had in any of that (but I'd be surprised if it was that much). I think another OC could step in next season and not miss a beat; in fact, with the addition of simply one solid WR and O-lineman, the offense should be even better next season.

See I think the opposite about Weis. I think he helped Cassel significantly.

If this is all true by some miracle, and Weis does leave, it has to be about his personality conflicts with Haley than anything.

Given the weapons on KC, that would be a solid choice. He's certainly got more upside than Weis at this point in Charlie's career, and he'd bring knowledge of the Broncos to aid in those two victories next season.

Would McDaniels still be getting paid from Denver at the same time he was a Chiefs OC? Imagine how that'd stick in the craw of Broncos fans.

I'm not saying it isn't bullshit. Weis isn't going to Florida. But people say things. Just because he felt that way when he took the KC job, doesn't mean he wont change his mind and want to attempt hire ranked jobs in football.
