VARSITY
I've been thinking a lot about this today, and here's the good stuff and bad stuff I've thought of surrounding Peyton place today:

Good Stuff:
1) Chiefs have the second most $ in the NFL in terms of cap room. Only Tampa Bay has more, and they already have a young QB. KC could spend $20 mill a year on PM and not break a sweat.

2) PM signing would pay for itself in ticket sales, suites, merchandise, etc. Chiefs would more than make their investment back, even if PM got hurt during the year.

3) This is the Joe Montana phenomenon all over again. Chiefs have NEVER developed a home grown QB, so this fits right in the wheel house for the Chiefs.

4) Tom Condon -former Chiefs Guard- is PM's Agent. He's always been a KC friendly guy.

5) KC has good young receivers, and could afford to bring Reggie Wayne and Jeff Saturday here along with PM if he wants his boys to come with him. No sweat under the current cap.

6) Stanzi can learn from PM. Cassel becomes a #2 backup, which is perfect for him. He's not good enough to be a starter, he's OK as a backup.

7) Moeacki could be the next Dallas Clark. Bowe, Breaston, Baldwin, Wayne would be one hell of a receiving corps, and would be hard to stop. When you add Moeacki, nobody in the AFC West would have as much talent at receiver except maybe San Diego, and they may lose Vincent Jackson as a FA.

8) Clark Hunt needs to show Chiefs fans he's serious about winning. This would certainly silence critics that say he's a cheap bastard.

9) New coach Jim Bob Cooter is an old Tennessee guy. Ryan Lilja used to block for PM in Indy. Colquitt is a Tennessee guy too.

Bad Stuff:

1) Peyton has played his career home games in domes. So he may want to stay with a open/closed roof field like in Houston or Arizona.

2) Chiefs may think Cassel is still their guy. If they think that, they're stupid. But this is the same organization that tossed Rich Gannon aside for Elvis Grbac.

3) If the Chiefs sit on their hands and ignore the whole deal, fans are really going to be pissed. And it will be a rough year for Cassel. He'll have to be worlds better than PM to take the heat off.

4) God Help Pioli if PM goes to Denver.

5) All the BS with Haley, the secretive BS, the candy wrappers, the cloak and dagger stuff, PM may want to steer clear of all that.

6) KC is not San Fran or Miami or NYC. PM may want a bigger media market, although its hard to see him going to the Jets, frankly.

7) Nobody knows if this guy can play or not. If his shoulder is screwed, then he may just be another weak arm QB. We already have Cassel for that.

8 ) Peyton may want to be his own OC. We just hired a new OC, have no idea if they'll get along or not. The new OC has a reputation for being a hard ass on Colt McCoy. Can he co-exist with PM?

9) For sure first draft pick will HAVE to be a tackle. Then a nose guard in 2nd round.

10) If this goes down, Go Chiefs will be chronically masturbating on the CP for weeks. He may die fapping.
