You have two tickets to fly anywhere in the lower 48 states. Where do you go and why?

Just for a long weekend for two.

You don't have to camp at Yellowstone. They have tons of condos and resorts there.

We have legs and will just go for the $20 3-day bus pass if need be.

It takes a long time to walk up and down the strip. The bus is okay, but super inconvenient.

I definitely agree about the bus being a slow option but we won't be in much of a hurry. Of course, my wife is talking about doing some repelling adventure thing they have there so we will probably have to rent a car anyway unless I can talk her out of that.

My wife and I went on a long weekend trip to Seattle. I'd recommend it. You can take the light rail from the airport to downtown where there is plenty to do. Lunch or Dinner on the Space Needle, EMP museum, Pikes fish market, etc...and everything is within walking distance. They also have a monorail that takes you from downtown to the Space Needle/museum area.

You'd love the EMP museum. They have a really cool Sci-Fi area there.

Las Vegas just isn't my thing. Drunks and cigarette smokers paradise.

Key West, Seattle and San Francisco would probably round out my top 3.

More expensive was my poker club spending enough in the casino to have the concierge hook us up with an all-day private limo.

If you are into wine you could also consider the CA wine country. I've also wanted to go to Maine in summer or car trip through New England in autumn.

Just got to thinking, might be a good opportunity to go on my first cruise. Just a 3 or 4 nighter.

My favorite US cities (in no particular order): NYC, Chicago, San Fran, Portland.

Haven't been to San Diego, Boston, or New Orleans yet.

If you're considering Vegas and can get a rental car I'd recommend staying an hour outside of Vegas in Mesquite, NV. From there you can check out Vegas for a day or two but, better, you can take day trips to Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, Red Rocks Canyon, and even the Grand Canyon.

NYC is Awesome - plenty to do: Broadway, Times Square, Ellis Island, Central Park, WTC, museums, delis, and on and on and on.

San Fran is also Awesome: Fisherman's Wharf, Golden Gate, Alcatraz, Mission District, Lombard Street, Muir Woods, Napa day-trip

It really depends upon what you're into: nature, art, theater, history, water/beach, entertainment

NYC. I just love the feel of the city. DC wouldn't be bad either. Once you get there you can take the Metro around, or if you sign up for the tour you can hop off and on the trolley thing all day. Lots of free museums and things to see.

/NOT WORTH IT

I don't think a 3 or 4 night cruise would be worth blowing 2 RT fares on. JMO.

I'll second that if you haven't been to DC before that would be a great trip.
