Doesn't this all just feel like 2011 all over again?
Coming off an unexpected division title, the Chiefs stroll into 2011 and lose to the Bills 41-7, then follow that up with a 45 point loss to Detroit. All of a sudden the reports start coming in that there's major trouble between Pioli and Haley all the way down, and the rest is history.

Any possibility a similar situation is playing out again? I just can't figure out why Reid looked so uninspired on Sunday. If nothing else we know the dude is a competitor. No fire from him at all. I don't know, the similarities are striking enough I figured it was worth posing the question.

Seriously, the guy's first two drafts stink so badly I'm not even sure he has picked up a player as "good" as Tyson Jackson, Pioli's first pick. There's certainly no Eric Berry.

His 2013 draft looks every bit as lost as Pioli's 09 draft (they come down to Jackson vs. Fisher+Kelce, basically). And his 2014 draft is not tracking favorably with the 2010 draft for Pioli.

We are the Chiefs. No QB is "worth while" before the 5th round, no matter where the Chiefs pick in the first round.

Have the first overall pick? All these QBs suck and have too many flaws to be first overall!

Have a pick in the top 10? All the QBs available to us now suck and have too many flaws. Too bad [insert taken QB's name] went before our pick, because [insert available QB's name] isn't NEARLY as good as him.

Have a pick in the 20s? Well, this QB who fell to our position isn't good enough. It would be a stretch to draft him. Besides, we need to take BPA (like a reserve player at our strongest position).

The point is that the program was built and we were in the playoffs consistently. We have not been since we have been going from coach to coach. It's the one thing that inconsistent teams have in common. Continuity counts which is a large reason why the same teams are always in the playoff talk.

With none of the hope of future success because every guy worth keeping is going to walk in free agency before the Chiefs are truly competitive and there are too many holes that can be fixed by both FA and the draft in two seasons.
