Random thought on reincarnation

Do you think the reason that some babies and children are so much happier than others is because they are actually people who have been reincarnated?

These children realize they are living a second life and draw upon their past experience to live even better lives than their first time around.

Thus, they are extremely happy and appear to mature faster than other children. These are the children you grew up around who were seemingly better at everything - got better grades, were better athletes, scored more with the opposite sex - and were just generally happier.

There is a downside though - once these people leave their second childhood, they suddenly become depressed and unhappy. They know the soul-crushing work that now awaits them as adults.

These are the extremely sad people you see roaming the world as adults. Knowing they have 60+ years to go before they can experience another happy childhood, having experienced much of what life has to offer already. In their previous life.

it's like...do you guys really think Michael Jordan learned how to be that good at basketball in one life?

in his previous life he probably discovered it too late and washed out in college....

next life he was like holy shit, OK i'm gonna dedicate my entire life to being the best basketball player ever

and he did. and now he's just a jerk all the time because he has no idea what he's going to do in his next life, and he knows it's probably gonna suck, because he's gonna be starting from scratch. he didn't develop any rudimentary skills/talents in this life to perfect in his next one. too much time spent on basketball, sex and gambling.

this is why you run into people who have no interest in sports or movies or are asexual or something.

they've had enough of that shit in their previous lives.

gay people are just people who had too much sex with women throughout their lifetimes. they're literally tired of pussy and can't stand women.

trannies? yep, they just lived 3 lifetimes as a man and they're done with that shit. off goes the cock.

morbidly obese? just had a life as a super skinny person.

reincarnation is real.

More than likely he was a fairly happy kid born to super strict religious parents and spent his formulative years in a basement wrapped in a cape. Once he learned all the pertinent life lessons one can learn in that manner or maybe he saved a burning bus of nuns, he was rewarded with an upgraded life next time.

But really what is an upgraded life? All these rich people running around losing family members and friends to accidents of life and I'm just cruising along at 35mph without really losing anything ever.

you're probably on your 8th life and you go around telling people reincarnation isn't real so society doesn't go crazy with suicides.

if people knew reincarnation was real they'd just kill themselves by the thousands and the system would get ****ed up.

The most heavily populated part of the world—the east believes in reincarnation. It's just too foreign for westerners to embrace.

However, I think happiness or unhappiness can develop in one lifetime and can stem from losses in life. Some people never spring back. Others do.

All that being said, if cats have nine lives, why can't we?

No. Spiritual reincarnation is not an integral part of Buddhism. Tibetan Buddhists believe in it, the Dalai Lama is a Tibetan Buddhist.

To help make that a little more clear (hopefully): I don't believe in spiritual reincarnation or spiritual karma. I believe in it from a philosophical standpoint. That is, you go through a transformative process as you live your life. Also you create the reality you live in and live with the choices that you make.

there's probably a sequence to this.

reeruned - downs - low IQ - regular person - high IQ - genius - supergenius - illuminati

you live eight lives and on your ninth you get to go to another planet, where everyone starts out as a super genius...but on that planet, being a super genius is like being reeruned.

it's like...you and your buddies are off doing quantum physics but some other guy is dunking four basketballs at once on 20-foot hoops and when he has sex every woman in a mile radius has an orgasm. and he's trying to save the earth.

Cockroaches have to go in there. Probably right after Illuminati.

Quote:
Before deciding to magically render extinct German and American cockroaches, we might pause to marvel at their adaptation to human-dominated environments. They can live in broad temperature ranges and survive for weeks without food. They can eat almost anything, from spaghetti to steak, whereas other insects specialise. They have a waxy coating that prevents them from drying out in heated or air-conditioned environments.

The dangers of cockroaches are often overstated. Cockroaches do carry bacteria: faecal matter adheres to them, they ingest it during grooming and they defecate it, sometimes on to human food sources or food-related equipment. Nevertheless, Schal says, few studies have conclusively shown that roaches regularly transmit disease to humans. In fact, their main danger to people is the production of airborne allergenic proteins that are inhaled by people. Urban children sometimes suffer asthma or allergy attacks from roach exposure.

The verdict on cockroaches? It's unanimous among the entomologists I spoke with, at least for German cockroaches: we could safely eliminate them. They are so exquisitely adapted to life with humans that they fill no other ecological niche.
