Do we rest starters in Week 17?

Hypothetical:

We win the next 3 games against the Chargers, Ravens and Browns....and we lock up the #5 seed in the playoffs. Going into Week 17 against the Raiders....do we sit starters so that we don't have anyone get injured? Or do you play starters in Week 17 to keep the momentum going?

I doubt it. Good chance all of those teams lose at least one more game.

I thought i saw a graphic on Sunday that had the Jets in the #5 slot. If the Jets win out and the Chiefs win out, would the Chiefs be relegated to #6?

Chiefs are #5 and Jets #6 - Chiefs have better conference record.

Jets have 1 NFC game left. If KC loses one more game and the Jets lose one more to the cowboys, it would come down to the next tie breaker. That would be common games. Jets have lost to Bills, Oakland, and Houston. It's a minimum of 4 games, so the Cleveland game is the last factor. If we lost to Cleveland but won the other three, we still have a 3-1 record to 1-3 record in common games.

As long as the jets lose to another AFC opponent, then three games for KC takes the 5 spot.

Are we really concerned about whether we're the 5 or 6 seed?

Chiefs have tie breakers over mostly everyone. if the Pats Broncos and Bengals somehow lost 3 of 4 we'd win the tie breaker for 1st seed.

If a loss changes NOTHING about our playoff standings moving forward, rest the starters after a few series for each side of the ball.

Could be the difference in playing @ IND or @ HOU as opposed to playing @ DEN, @ NE or @ CIN.

So yes.

I don't know......

I think it depends on the health of the team at that current time. But, I'd probably give them the week off.

Gonna need them feeling their best headed down the stretch. Hope they can be in that position.

This defense isn't blowing any 28 point leads, and aside from that, the rest seemed beneficial in 2013.

If it means we have to play NE instead of the AFC south winner I'm not so sure about that lol...That being said though Andy Reids record after a bye is flat out ridiculous. I think he's only ever lost 1 game after a bye. I guess we did lose the WC game against Indy after a "bye" but the team came out blazing hot and likely would have won if not for half of the team getting injured.
