It's actually incredibly spooky when you think about it. The stars have aligned, and I just don't think you could reasonably draw any conclusion besides the fact that the Kansas City Chiefs are destined to win this game.

I've thought quite a bit about the 'destiny' option. there are some remarkable things that make you think so.

Lenny got hurt (twice) in 69. Jackie Lee took over for him and in the first half of the first game in Cincinnati, broke his ankle. Stram's hand was forced and he had to go to Mike Livingston. The Chiefs lost that game. Sputtered in the next but iced it on a onside kick returned for a TD.
The Chiefs then reeled off 10 straight as Len came back in game 8.

In 2019, PMII got injured in game 1, his ankle got worse as Cam Erving couldn't help but try to break it, dislocated his patella and missed a couple games.

Moore performed admirably, but the Chiefs sputtered and even on PM's return lost 4 of 6. They caught fire and won 8 straight get to Miami.

In 2015, the Royals were down to 6 outs in Houston in Game 4. Refusing to see the season wither and die on the vine, they scored 5 in the in the 8th and 3 in the 9th to win. Then fell behind early in the elimination game 5 before rallying to win going away.

in 2020, the Chiefs were down 24-0. We know the result.

In 1969, the Chiefs went to Oakland to face the Raiders for the AFL title. The Chiefs had been 1-8 vs the Raiders to that point. They fell behind 7-0.

The Chiefs roared back and won in physical fashion, crushing Lamonica and his backup George Blanda and forcing 4 interceptions to win 17-7.

The Chiefs in 2020, were 1-8 vs the Titans. They fell behind 10-0 and 17-7, before scoring 28 straight to win going away. Again., they won in physical fashion, stopping King Henry and Dirty Dan blasting Tannahill to (Chiefs) Kingdom come.

But, it's not destiny. The Chiefs have the best player at the most important position in all of sports.

You can call it destiny as a feel good story of a small market team suffering for 50 years with a well respected coach on the verge of his first Superbowl win. But, the commissioner WANTS us to win because it's good for the NFL's future with young QB prospects.

“Patrick Mahomes anywhere in the NFL is good for me,” Goodell said. “Not only is he an incredible player, but he is an incredible young man. Wherever he plays in the NFL, he’s going to have an impact. I’m proud to have him as a Kansas City Chief. I guess there are 31 other teams that wouldn’t mind having him either. The reality is, he has just made us better. And he’s made the Chiefs better, evidenced by the fact that they’re here in the Super Bowl.
“As I mentioned, when we think about the future of the NFL. People like Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson, these great young players. This is the future of our league and not just with quarterbacks, but with great young players at every position. We’re happy to have him as a Kansas City Chief and we’re happy to have him in the Super Bowl.”
