Cannita Tips

I am looking to go to Canada in the fall. I'm probably going to be bringing $30,000 USD or so with me so I'm a little worried about that. Going to play poker in the Toronto area and maybe Playground near Montreal. Driving across through Detroit/Windsor and then coming back to the USA in Niagra Falls/Buffalo area.

What tips do you have? I'm not planning to declare I have $30,000 in the car but tell them Im just sight seeing for a couple days or something.

How easy is it to exchange like 10k USD for CAD? What does that cost?

Good Luck!
I don't play anything but poker unless friends make me actually gamble.

I don't think I've played a slot machine in 17 years.

If you go up to northern Minnesota with a canoe, there are all sorts of ways to get into Canada without anyone knowing. If Canada ever invades us, I think that's where they'll storm the border.

The last time I graced them with my presence the cock gobbling canucks threw a fit over a patch of skin on a piece of fish being too small. After having our trucks raided like we were drug smugglers they looked at it again and decided it was enough skin to identify it.

There's no way in hell I'd try to smuggle $30k north of the border without doing it right. In today's climate intentionally breaking the law is just asking to get the whole book thrown at you and they'd probably tie the money up in paperwork for the rest of your life.

It completely circumvents the idea of innocent until proven guilty. I am unsure if Canada has similar laws, but it wouldn't surprise me if they do. I would recommend having a plan in place for what you'll do with that money. Maybe bring your bank receipts and your poker tourney invite or something.

If you haven't seen how many random people have been completely ****ed over by this when they are on their way to buy a car or whatever, you should google it.
So true story. In 2018 I was flying home from Dallas and I had around $82,000 with me. I've had 20k to 30k before and never had an issue on domestic flights. This time they gave me so much shit. I was open and honest with where I got it from and what I do for a living. Treated me like a criminal. I even showed them I played a streamed on the internet poker cash game where I had won a great deal. They did not care in the slightest.

I was freaking out because not only did I almost miss my flight but they TOOK the entire wads of cash out of my possession, out of my view, and into a office that I could not see in. I waited 15 to 20 minutes for them to apparently look me up and make sure I wasn't a terrorist or drug dealer.

I did get it all back but some people have no been as lucky. Now if I ever fly with alot of cash I just mix it up in 4 or 5 different items. No issues.

You could go up to the far north arctic and tape it to polar bears, and then retrieve it when they head south to Canada.

I'm doing something boring like going to Canada... how can I make myself look as stupid as ****ing possible for CP's entertainment?

Nobody can make up a butt ****ing moronic scenario out of something as mundane as a border crossing like BWillie.

You could stand at the border and throw the money across, and then "find it" after you're through customs.

You could file a legal claim that some part of maritime Canada is actually US territory dating back to the Revolutionary War. You cross while there's legal limbo and then drop the claim.

So....according to your thread title, this is only going to be the tip? I think you're lying.

You could convert it to gold and swallow it, as long as you have a couple of days to wait.

Leave a drone with a bag of money on the US side and then fly it over the border when no one is looking.
