***Official Let's Beat the Damn Twins (v. Royals) 4-13***

The Royals turn to Brian Bannister (2-0) today to try to put a halt to a three-game losing streak and avoid being swept by the Twins.

VARSITY
Too bad Guillen robbed Bannister of a shutout with his ERR.

Yeah I am not sure what is up, but Meche has not been able to throw strikes early in the count.. Fridays game, he pitched well kind of but would not throw back to back strikes for nothing.. Always a even count or 2-2, 3-2.. Someone needs to remind him that it is okay to jump the count to 0-2 and then work your magic in getting the batter to swing at a bad ball..

Meche has always had the same problem. He tries to pitch to the corners so much and induce strike outs. He had never trusted his fielders enough to just use his great stuff and pitch like Bannister is doing. That was his problem in Seattle and appears to be what his MO is here in KC

The guy gets no respect. I'm not sure why. Everyone in the national media seems to think last season was smoke and mirrors, and now here he is... 3-0 after three starts, on a weak offensive team... and still, nothin'.

Yeah, Meche seems to have problems with command in the early going, something he had no issues with last year. He was merciless in the strike zone last year and was very successful, IMO. Now, it looks like he's trying to be too fine - probably, in part, because he hasn't received a lot of run support in his time here.
