Here ya go Laz, 3-point shooting percentages and national rankings for the last 6 years. (Keep in mind this is out of 340-ish teams)

2011-2012: .358, 98th – oh yeah, we went to the championship game
2010-2011: .387, 22nd
2009-2010: .409, 5th
2008-2009: .380, 32nd
2007-2008: .398, 13th
2006-2007: .382, 47th
2005-2006: .380, 50th

Roy’s 2002-2003 team that went to the title game was 194th at .341.

I think I've posted something like this for Laz before when he's criticized Self/the team's shooting. He'll probably just ignore it and continue on with his nonsense.

great shooting % against teams when we are up by 20 pts throughout the season are padding the stats. When it comes to pressure time it's the reason we lose.

Every year ... how do you beat Self/KU?

Clog the middle
Deny easy fast break points
make KU shoot from outside the paint (not the 3) to win
shoot the 3 well enough to offset KU's good defense

all year long we focus everything on pounding the paint and playing defense. No pick and roll, no swing sets,no full court press ... not much variety at all.

Then when it comes time to play against teams just as athletic/talented as us ... we can't just lob it inside. Then we have to scramble to do stuff we haven't been doing all year long and it gets ugly.

if you don't know that then you aren't watching enough KU games

but hey, blame laz ... if he was a better fan then KU wouldn't have the same exact weakness every year. I'm sorry, i should cheer harder.

Lol, yeah a strategy of "make easy buckets and deny easy buckets" is clearly flawed.

No offense, Laz, but you are a complete moron.

Laz, KU has not had great shooting teams under Self primarily because he recruits more athletic "combo" guards. Guys like Selby, Chalmers, Robinson, "Ain't no Seats", Tyshawn Taylor, Travis Relaford, Elijah Johnson... The "shooter" types have been typically the bigger guard or small forward - Brandon Rush, Micah Downs, Xavier Henry... Tyrell Reed was one of the few exceptions. I think the coming years will be some of the best shooting teams we've had with Self here.

Frankamp
McLemore (might be the best shooter coming out of High School that Self has signed not named Xavier Henry)
Greene
White
Adams

All coming into the program the next 2 years.

Are you sure you don't mean to say this about Frankamp? I've heard BMc could be the most athletic, but haven't heard about him being a great shooter.

ya, I added and removed names.

McLemore isn't nearly the shooter Frankamp is. I had originally left him off the list, but decided to add him anyway (probably where I got it jumbled)
