I take it you're ashamed of yourself for having such a shitty example of other teams "not drafting a QB in the first round"?

So your suggesting the Chiefs continue with the retread theme? Hows that working for us?

they didn't draft a QB in the first round because they either

A) Had a hall of gamer on the roster;
B) Went to superbowls
C) Both.

It's just a bad example. It wasn't like they didn't draft a QB, simply because they decided not to. They didn't HAVE to.

There's no earthly reason KC hasn't.

It was just a bad statistic, that, without further explanation, is wildly misleading.

It wasn't shitty at all. You showed how teams can be successful while going decades without drafting the QB in the first round. Hell, I wasn't even going for that. I was just making an on-point response to the earlier poster.

I'm not suggesting anything. I'd suggest that you stop moving the goalposts, but that's pretty much the favored style around here, so such a suggestion would be useless.

I'm not moving any goal post. I've been wanting Chiefs to draft QB to be deamed our franchise QB before we traded for Montana. I was against that then and I'm against any thing bringing in a retread QB. That is my stand on it & I'm not going change that.

Of course you are. Your initial claim (plus the clarification) was that the Chiefs were the only team to go 30 years without drafting the QB in round one. I showed that other teams have done that, and that others had gone long stretches even if it wasn't a full 30+ years, and you changed your argument and tossed out the "So your suggesting the Chiefs continue with the retread theme? Hows that working for us?" post when I'd said nothing of the sort.

Go for it. While the post is correct, that wasn't the purpose of my initial post. It was just a response to someone who was taking the first post off into another direction.

I took this post as we don't need to draft a QB in round one. I agree there are other avinues to win a Super Bowl yet it's not working for us and the idea would be best to draft our own guy and I would prefer a first rounder as that has been a proven success rate in the NFL as the majority of Super Bowl wins have come from first round QBs or at least QBs drafted by there respected team. I must have been wrong about being the only team not to do this for that long of a streatch. It still flustrates the hell out of me that I watch other teams get to enjoy there QB for long term and end up winning the Super Bowl. Jealousy. I look at teams like the Panthers and they draft Cam Newton and just think they will be on there way to a Super Bowl as we are stuck with a retread not getting past the first round in the playoffs.

I will give you credit for doing the research on teams and there droughts at drafting a first round QB.

of course you dont, but the percentages go way down. If you dont get that qb in the top half of the first around, then getting a great qb is like a needle in a 10 heystacks. Its possible, but not likely. History for the Chiefs proves that.

At this point, i dont ever have a hope of the Chiefs drafting a first round qb, at least not for about 4-5 years. This team and the people running it, just take something out of you when you cant do anything fun for years and years.

Its like this, im a lakers fan and i know Kobe's time is running out and we may not be good for a few years, BUT i do know that it wont last long and they will be on top again. Chiefs? im still waiting. lol
