Heh, you don't know much about Colorado, do you? They would be improved many times over with a hire like Tubby Smith. They don't really give a crap about their hoops at CU.

No I know Tubby Smith Basketball

He doesn't like to recruit and has never built a program from the ground up. Read Robinson's comments about Tubby's recruiting pitch.

Well I think this game certainly proved that KU is the best team in the country. Every other "big" team struggled mightly this first weekend at some point. And in my opinion Kentucky was the best team for any #1 seed to face; they are better than Michigan State, Xavier or Butler. I know games come down to matchups and comparing team to team can get foolish but I do believe Kentucky beats any of the other 3 teams playing the other #1's.

I don't think Kentucky was much more than a #10 seed with a big name on their jersey, but I completely agree with your first two sentences. I didn't see Florida/Purdue, but it looked to me like Florida is back to flipping a switch whenever they want to play. OSU is overrated and will lose to Tennessee. Roy got outcoached against MSU, and USC is obviously better than people gave them credit for.

Regardless of who anyone played though, Kansas was the team that really took care of business in both games... and surprisingly, now that I look at the bracket, USC & SIU are the only two that stick out as doing the same.

I watched the 2nd half of Florida/Purdue and it wasn't so much of Florida flipping a switch; Purdue went cold, due to Florida's defense for a large part, and Florida got hot. Purdue also seemed to panic when they tied the game up again after losing the lead. I think if Purdue was a little more experienced Florida would have been knocked off today. But all credit to Florida, they responded like champs.

It was a pretty boring game all-around. Purdue's defense really stifled us in the first half. We responded better in the 2nd, but never really got going until the very end. Purdue is a smaller half-court team that we didn't really match-up well with. We shouldn't have to face another team like them and we match up better with everyone else in our bracket (Butler, Oregon, UNLV). We really played flat all game, but advanced - and that's all that matters.

Someone on tv a while back called it a rollover year, or something like that... meaning there are a lot of teams that have lots of Seniors/Juniors and/or have younger talent with tournament experience. That seemed really clear to me this weekend, as almost all the top seeds knew how to respond in the close games, while a team like Texas struggled.

On that note, I'm glad Kansas doesn't have to deal with him again this year, but I really hope Durant comes back, for the sake of college basketball.
