Madden '17

Anyone getting a little excited? Seems like they have really made an effort this year.

Franchise mode is getting an overhaul according to recent news:

1. Full player editing while your franchise is progressing.

2. Coaching/FO decisions.

3. In-game ticker with live updates.

4. Practice squads.

5. New commentary team that will actually talk about things happening in your franchise.

6. Draft has been tweaked with more busts/gems.

Gameplay improvements:

1. Zone Coverage overhaul.

2. New ball-carrier special moves.

3. Real gap control on defense.

4. Real ball physics. In the past the ball would tether to a player based on ratings.

They also overhauled kicking to make it a challenge now. There's a new three-click system and weather/location will play a factor. Also, apparently on clutch kicks if the opponent "freezes" the kicker by calling a timeout the kicking meter will disappear and you have to make the kick by muscle memory. Kicks and punts can also be blocked.

How badly all of this shit is ****ed up on release remains to be seen but it does seem like they are making a big effort.

I started an offline franchise. First game against San Diego, kicked the shot outta them. Charles ran for four TDs.

Here are some clips I took from yesterday's online ranked games. I'm like 40-12 so far, about to hit top 1000 (top 2%).

Hey Alex, got a clutch drive going, hit that checkdown!

Well that's OK, Chiefs take the lead anyway after they stop the Raiders ensuing possession. Thanks defense! Let's stop this Raiders hail mary now and win the AFC WEST, BITCHES!

Thanks, Alex.

Thanks, defense.

LITERALLY ANYONE CAN WIN THIS DIVISION. PLEASE LOSE RAIDERS. I NEED TO WITNESS ALEX SMITH IN A PLAYOFF GAME.

Well, this wasn't predictable. You should have seen the two goal line picks I threw down 41-28 in the fourth quarter.

Raiders lose 35-14, I blow a chance to win the division, finish 8-8. And the BRONCOS win the West at 8-8.

TO THE KNACKERS YARD WITH YE, ALEX. GET THEE TO A NUNNERY, AGED JAMAAL! BRING ME THE DRAFT.

Maybe next year I can go 9-7!

And I was so embarrassing, I got coach Reid to retire. I wonder if it had anything to do with the 47 turnovers I committed.

I picked this up on Sunday and finally got a chance to play online earlier today. Played a couple bums and won both games.

Initial thoughts are that the game is good. It's smooth. I didn't encounter any glitchy or cheesy bullshit.

Chiefs are a great team to use. OL doesn't play as bad as their ratings and the speed at WR/TE makes a difference. Jamaal is also very fast and runs hard.

We're solid on defense. Houston and Hali make plays consistently.

Charles cut. It was tag or cut and I wasn't tagging that declining SOB, especially after two fumbles against Denver in the season finale. BYE.

Alex is on the trade block. Not paying him $16.8M for another 20+ INTs.

Here...we...go!

It seems some of the artificial difficulty from All Madden has seeped into All Pro. This displeases me.

Chiefs got their head coach. I'll wait to reveal until I get a screenshot of him. Older guy.

Free agency!

CB Sam Shields - 2 years, 13.9M.

HB Adrian Peterson - 2 years, 17.4 million. Thunder and lightning with Agholor!

CB Deron Brackens - 5 years, 17.4M. 2nd year player, potential nickel.

Thank you Alex for the cap room. Get stuffed.

Notable FA signings: Brees, Brandon Marshall to Ravens, Larry Fitzgerald and Charles to Philly (they gave him $10 million a year ), Jadeveon Clowney to the Bills. Spencer Ware was let go, signed with Jets.

No QBs appreciably better than Bobbo Chase, so, top draft target for the Chiefs:

You just signed a 33 year old RB to $8m per?

I want you fired.

It's only a two year deal. Won't prevent me from signing anyone else. Besides, I need an elite power back to pair with Agholor and take the heat off Bobbo. Plenty of gas left in AP's tank.

Trust the process. The system is being built.

****ing Vikings took my CB though. Might be fat guy time.

Well, did something I thought I'd never do.

Traded out of the first round entirely this year.

Falcons give me their 2nd round pick and next year's 1st and 7th.

With the Alex Smith trade I'll have three first round picks in 2019. Hope the draft is stronger at the top.

Top pick for the Chiefs in 2018 comes at #49. Slight reach, not a sexy pick, but the most physically talented OLB in the draft.
