Ford is a piece of trash who will never go beyond AA, he's currently a banjo hitter in high A.
Hammond's absolute upside is Brad Thompson. Pretty good trade for the Brewers considering that Durham will probably be a Type B free agent and get them a pick that is far better than either of the two piles of monkey shit they traded him for. God, Sabean is a ****ing moron of the nth degree.

Carpenter's Rehab outing:
62 pitches, 33 strikes, 4K, 4BB, 1H, 0R. Not bad. Only hit 92 on the gun though. Hopefully he can throw closer to the 94-6 he was at in '04-'06.

Carp's numbers look good but he did throw 33 balls out of 62 pitches and topped off at 92 mph. Still going to be a few weeks or maybe a month to get up to speed.
From the paper.... ------------------------------------------------------------------- Carpenter breezed through the first inning, retiring the side after only 10 pitches. He struggled, though, in the second and fewer than 50 percent of his pitches were strikes. After working himself into a groove in the third, Carpenter ran into some more trouble in the fourth -- his final and longest inning. He walked two of the first three batters and a deep fly ball -- which would have been a three-run blast -- landed inches short of the fence in left-center field. With relievers warming up in the bullpen, Cardinals pitching coach Bryan Eversgerd visited Carpenter on the mound. Warner said that it was not to see if the ace was feeling discomfort in his elbow. "Just give him a little blow," Warner said. "It was a long inning so we wanted to give him a little breather and get him right back on the horse."

------------------------------------------------------------- The lowlight of the game goes to Izzy, who just doesn't seem to have the nerve or the stuff to be a major league closer anymore. I'm hoping for some sort of miracle -- something Dave Duncan notices to bring back the magic. But it is unfair to this team to let him go out there and keep blowing 2-, 3- and 4-run leads time after time. If not for his horrendous total of blown saves, the Redbirds would be three or four games out front instead of two games back in the standings.

milwaukee continues to up the ante by getting durham. I think the Brewers will be in first place by season's end.
another site reported the Cardinals and Yankees were trying to get Ron Mahay from Kansas City, but that either team would have to overpay to get him since he's still under contract next year. New York supposedly has little that interests the Royals in the minors, though. given that the cubs and brewers have been adding pieces it wouldn't seem like a bad idea since they would probably be shopping for quality relief in the offseason anyway, but they don't seem to be too interested in making a push. |

I hope not. Would like to think we could make a deal for relief help... time will tell, it may be in the works already..... who knows.

Hey I've got lots of love for you Milwaukee fans. Man, no playoffs since 1982 but your still drawing 3,000,000 fans to the park this year!
I always love die hard fans. Respect goes to you and your buds. ![]() But you and your rental players are still going down this week.

I moved to Milwaukee from Missouri back in 2001, so I can't say I've been with them for the long haul. I was, and still consider myself, a life-long Royals fan. I've followed the Royals and will continue to follow the Royals. But shortly after I moved here, I could feel it was different. Especially when the new ownership took over a couple of years ago. Now, this year, the atmosphere around the city is crazy. As soon as we landed Sabathia, tickets for his first game, a Tuesday night game, started selling like hot cakes. That game ended up selling out...a Tuesday night game! I managed to get tickets though and the crowd was really into it. Yes, it's a good time to be a Brewers fan. |

i was at the game. other than the walks, he looked very sharp. only allowed one hit, and i don't believe he allowed a runner past second base.
