Sean Smith will be suspended for 3 games

@AdamSchefter: NFL is suspending Chiefs CB Sean Smith 3 games after he pled guilty last month for DUI and received two years’ probation, per NFL source.

I can't believe he got more than 2.

KC should probably just have Poe and Bailey as the only DL on every down. Since those 2 automatically eliminate 4 OL by themselves, if you have 4 guys in coverage, it leaves 5 guys to rush against the remaining 1 or 2 blockers. I don't see how anyone even manages to get any sort of offensive play off.

Because if he played in our 3-4 he wouldn't be putting up those numbers.

Yea bc that was my point

A guy that's a pass rush specialist and rotational player cannot be better than an every down DE that can take on double teams in the run game and still end up with more sacks in 2 fewer games.

If you actually paid attention and used the eye ball test you would know this, but then again I'm talking to the ****ing guy that claimed Antonio Smith was a ****ing NT.

Hef clearly doesn't understand the differences between scheme or circumstance.

He'll tell you that Kelvin Beachem is better than Tyron Smith bc he got better numbers.

Malik gets double teamed as well:

Calling him a rotational player is stupid. He played more snaps than Howard did. Realistically, every DL in the league, except maybe Poe, is a rotational player.

WTF?

Malik played 5 tech in our 4-3 under. He will almost certainly have the same responsibilities in a 3-4.

I don't recall ever having an opinion on Beachum (which I actually managed to spell correctly) vs Smith. I do remember shedding light on a stupid comparison someone made between Beachum and Fisher. Was that you?

Holy shit you've got to be kidding me

You just posted a gif of him standing around in a pass rushing situation to demonstrate he has the ability to take on double teams in the run game? All that gif proved is that he probably couldn't do it at all on a run play.

Also he's not a starter so what else do I call him? Bailey had significantly more snaps and played two fewer games. So yes, there's a difference.

1st and 10 is not a "pass rushing situation". Jackson's responsibility is to read for run vs pass, unlike Von, who goes full steam in as a pass rusher.

If you would like some numbers, Jackson played 149 run snaps, had 21 stops and 0 missed tackles.

Bailey played 305 run snaps, had 19 stops and 2 missed tackles.

It's a ****ing pass play not a run play so what does that have to do with being a run stuffing DE that commands double teams?

The fact that you used THAT play to prove your point just goes to show just how clueless you are.

Can you show me how many times each guy took on a double team allowing their LB's to make a stop? No that's the ****ing point. PFF stats/rankings don't mean shit when you consider a players responsibilities within a scheme.

You try finding gifs of run plays.

2 things that the gif I provided show:

-Malik is lined up on a G on a play where it isn't clear whether the offense will be running or passing, and has clear run-defending responsibilities. Therefore Denver trusts him in the run game.

-KC decided to double team him.

You can have your "run stuffing DE that commands double teams" who isn't really that good against the run, but puts on a good show on one play against the Chargers, I'll take the better DE in Jackson.
