Uh, yeah. That's how NFL contracts work. You can't simply void that contract because you're unhappy. You think he's the first player to ever play under a contract they weren't 100% happy with.

Short of something catastrophic off the field, the only guy I can really remember being catastrophic on the sidelines was Terrell Owens. My longstanding statement about him was that he was good, but he made everyone else on the team worse just by being around. I guess it's possible that Peters is going that route, in which case we'll see him bounce around the league making interceptions and enemies.

Sure, but you don't think forcing a guy to be there against his will would have any kind of negative impact at all?

**** him in that case. Sit his ass on the sideline for 2 years and watch him rot. That’s worth a late 2nd and 4th to me.

The only problem with your statement is that the only time Reid made the Super Bowl was the year Owens played for him. He didn't make them worse.

That's irrelevant. You do the same thing regardless. If he decides he'd rather destroy the rest of his career by sitting out, then that's his decision. He's not getting a big contract doing that.

Naw, they're safe... This is what Clark wanted. They'll get a pass because they were just following orders

DAT literally quit on the team two years ago... he was medically cleared to play and refused to play, yet he has remained on the roster.

Tamba Hali called out the coaching staff on Twitter this past summer and remained on the team.

The Chiefs were willing to put up with those situations... from two guys with no/declining talent yet give up Marcus Peters for nothing.

This franchise is a dumpster fire of epic fail.

Sure, bench the guy, but keep him on the squad. Then when you have to play him because his replacement sucks or gets injured, he lights it up, and has you by the balls.

Look I'm sure the FO had solid reasons for wanting this guy hell and gone. I'm not happy about the peanuts we got for him, but I just have to believe there is more to the story for such a seemingly horrible deal to go through.

I look at it this way, it’s the best possible trade they could’ve made. There were only 2 teams interested in Peters being the Rams and the 49ers. When 29 other teams are saying “no thank you” to him that should speak high volumes in regards to his value.

I think his character must’ve been so out of whack that it deflated his value to the point where the emphasis of his character overruled his talent. He was just too cancerous for team morale that very few were willing to compensate as less as possible to the Chiefs. It was simply one of those situations. Nothing more.
