As said 3-2, but what you really missed, in case you couldn't tell from the thread, or haven't seen on the highlights, was Forlan bending a rocket right over the shoulder of the defender on a free kick only to have it hit the goal post on what he had to know was the last touch of the game. All with a strained quad.

Kind of a 1/2 ironic 1/2 heroic coda to the end of regulation against Ghana.

Germany's mechanics and ball movement are seriously above brilliant, thr team is clever and crafty too. Fun to watch, the funnest team to watch IMO.

I don't think that will actually happen, though. I think Spain should win, I just hope they don't.

HUH? La Liga has the exact same qualifications as EPL for Champions.. top 3 are automatic and the 4th can qualify. This is what I am talking about with people not paying La Liga enough respect... Valencia was the runner up in the Champions League final as recently as 2000 AND 2001. Villareal was in the semis in 2006. Valencia in the quarters in 2007 and Villareal in 2009. Sevilla has underachieved but they have made it out of their group numerous times.

Most people today would admit that La Liga has far bigger competitive issues than the Premier League. That's not saying much, but Madrid and Barca are far above everyone else in money, but still have huge debt problem freed only from friendly banks willing to extend credit.

The Premier League has it's own problems. Liverpool needs new owners, United is funding Glazer instead of the other way around, and other clubs are fairly over extended. **** City and Chelsea, but they have their corrupt money. But they at least have a universal television contract, and some other competitive measures in place.

I'm a huge opponent of salary caps in soccer, outside of certain situations. If La Liga imposes a salary cap, they'll just become second class to Italy, England, and Germany. But someone needs to be done to restrain the incredible debt of high level soccer.
