I hope Stanzi turns out to be the next Montana, but the fact that he can't beat out Brady freakin Quin for the backup role tells me that he is nowhere near as good as Cassel.
The defense doesn't matter so much. The way he operates in the pocket, his decisions and whether or not the ball went where it was supposed to go is what at is important. Outside of that, you can't worry about whether a ball was completed or not, just whether the receiver should have caught a dropped pass or not.

You can't get into, a #1 defender this or that. He threw the ball to where he threw it b/c there was no way the defender was in position to catch it. Same as for the receiver, the only variable you can accurately predict is that our #1 receiving group has MUCH better hands than our #3's.

Still not sure how the wr getting pushed out not getting two feet in, makes it a bad throw?

Alright man, you've officially lost it. You are walking the line between fan and stalker. Isn't the ability to read a defense the main attribute when measuring pocket presence?

What makes it a bad throw was the timing. The WR had to wait on the ball giving the CB an easy play to push him out. If you are going to throw it late in that situation the ball has to be thrown more on the outside shoulder.

I wasn't forming an opinion. Just correcting him. I'm not a Cassel fan at all, but there's a big difference between 90% and 44%.

So how would Bowe and Baldwin manage to get 2 feet in? They would get pushed out too.

The what if game is reeruned. He didn't complete the passes end of story. He played with scrubs, but was also facing them. The straight drops suck, but get out of here with this crap.

It feels like we are all wasting our breath. People who hate Cassel and love Stanzi will never back down, and people who actually understand football and realize that Cassel is the better QB will not back down. What matters this year is who is the better QB right now, not who has the highest upside. They need to win this year and they have a chance of doing that with Cassel. No chance of winning this year with Stanzi. He is a project.

That underthrown deep ball was as good as the best deep ball Cassel has ever completed!

And no, the pass to Newsome would NOT have been a TD despite what aturnis and Boss are saying. Newsome was pushed out. Unless Bowe or Baldwin have some magical force that prevents them from being pushed out while in the air, the same thing would have happened to them too. Especially against a starting corner.
One underthrown (deepball 40yds downfield), one overthrow (other deepball 40 yds downfield) and one pass under heavy pressure into the dirt(smart play).

1. They'd probably get better positioning before they left the ground.

2. They're a lot bigger (Newsome is 6'1, 200).

3. They're much more physical.

4. They can track the ball better.

5. They are more acrobatic.

It wasn't a BAD throw. It was just an incompletion. My beef is with the people who think it would be a TD with Bowe/Baldwin.
