And no, the pass to Newsome would NOT have been a TD despite what aturnis and Boss are saying. Newsome was pushed out. Unless Bowe or Baldwin have some magical force that prevents them from being pushed out while in the air, the same thing would have happened to them too. Especially against a starting corner.
Just rewatched the play. Defender NEVER lays a hand on Newsome once he catches the ball. No push. Easy TD.

The only way that is going to happen is if you rewind one TD and watch it again twice.

Seriously, it would be great if he did well. He could come out and suprise I guess but, it's hard for me to fathom that. He's still a major project imo.

KC is ready to win now. We need a back up QB who can win now. If we go with a third QB, it will have to be someone they are really high on for the future. If they keep him at all, it's a good sign. Pioli doesn't really mess around with project players.

Brilliant!

I am not hoping Stanzi fails. I am just trying to state that right now he is not as good as Cassel. If stanzi was our starter and Cassel was the backup, these same yahoos would be bitching about Stanzi and praising Cassel. Everyone loves the backup QB in this town.

How are you confused? It was a good decision. Like Trent said during the game, it was a good decision to throw that pass.

But with the force out rule, it couldn't have been a TD. A CB would push out the WR no matter what. No WR gets both feet in bounds before the CB pushes them out. Especially if it's a 6'1 219lb CB like Peterson.

Just listen to Trent Green during the replays. He says exactly what I'm saying now.

When did I say it was stupid? I said it was stupid to call it a TD with Bowe and Baldwin like Bosschief/Aturnis are doing.

He drafted a project player #11 overall.

The length of this conversation has exceeded my interest in it.

If you want to argue that it was stupid of Stanzi to even try the play, while simultaneously arguing it was a good play, then that's on you.

If you're arguing something else, then whatever.

I'm not so sure about that. If everything were the same, Cassel would still have happy feet while Stanzi wouldn't. Cassel would still be king check down, while Stanzi wouldn't. Stanzi would still stand tall in the pocket while Cassel wouldn't. Stanzi would be more accurate while Cassel would keep hitting goal posts.

I don't think he is the second coming or anything, I just want the kid to get a shot. I don't believe Cassel can take us to the promise land. After three years, I've seen enough. If we are just throwing out chances, on back ups that never played in college, then we can give Stanzi three years too.

Yes, a bad Stanzi deepball is better than the best Cassel deepball. You don't comprehend that?

The defender got a lot of contact on Newsome. Without the contact, Newsome get's both feet in.

And you still haven't addressed the fact that Newsome was being covered by a 6'0 190lb CB. Bowe would be covered by a 6'1 219lb CB in Peterson who would cover the route much better and push Bowe out further than Newsome was.

Yeah, that's why so many NFL QB's, including Cassel catch make it. Dumbass.
