The difference between a TD and a catch out of bounds on that play is that an NFL receiver has the body control to get both feet in and knows he will fall flat on his face b/c of it. Newsome apparently didn't want to land on his face. That is why he will not have a job next month...

And the 3rd string CB didn't make a strong force out like a 1st stringer like Peterson would. That is why he will not have a job next month.

Too bad that defender never attempted to force him out. He came in contact with him sure, but only b/c he was trying to bat the ball away. There was no force out, Newsome let his own momentum carry him out. A stud receiver doesn't do that.

So the contact didn't push Newsome out? If not for the contact, Newsome wouldn't have landed where he landed.

And that's beside the point.Since your whole point is that Stanzi would have made that TD with a #1 WR, it's only right that we put him against a #1 corner. A corner like Peterson WOULD force out Bowe/Baldwin.
