Suicide?

Have you ever contemplated suicide? I have, I think about it everyday. I think my kids and wife would be better off without me. My wife is an absolute angel. She did not deserve to be stuck with me. I know that it's the right thing to do. But it's cowardly. I know for a fact that I am going to hell. I love my kids and wife so much, but I have not been a good father.

Nope.

Eventually, you'll take a shit, whether you want to or not.

People who are thinking about suicide and saying things like "It's the right thing to do", "I'm going to hell anyway", and "My wife and kids deserve better" are in a dangerous place. Healthy people don't say those things. He can get healthy and he should get healthy. But it's gonna take some therapy and possibly medication. He's not going to wake up tomorrow in a better place.

This thread serves as a reminder that people may be otherwise intelligent, literate, and well-spoken (or written, such as it were) folks, but those characteristics don't necessarily make you intelligent. JFC, the OP needs help. We're not 4chn, bodybuilding forums (or whatever), etc; we're a community talking about the Chiefs. I can appreciate that there's a hundred-fold increase of trolling online, even on BBs like CP, but JFC, the dude's a semi-regular contributor here.

Suicidal tendencies and thoughts are the lows for most people who are major depressive or manic depressive. Is suicide selfish? Yes. But typically those who go through with it know that, are smart enough to grasp it, and STILL go through with it. That is the greatest evidence for the idea that there is some cognitive mis-wiring within these individuals. The saddest part is, lobbying and adveritising by the pharmaceutical industry has created a dangerous situation in this country for those who experience true depression. When psychiatrists prescribe antidepressants for anybody who feels the slightest pang of natural depression, it makes society naturally more reluctant to believe that true depression exists. So suicidal people are then told to "buck up" based on poor anecdotal evidence of someone who claimed to be depressed, but just changed diet and exercise habits and was "healed".

The guy is mentally sick, and for right or wrong, is reaching out to this community. Please-- even if he has no effect on your life and there are thousands of trolls online who would do the same thing-- take this seriously and respectfully.

Brianfo, if you are with us, hope you're getting to feeling better. You need to talk to someone, but not here. Find a professional, and be open and honest no matter what. If you need anything, take up any one of us on our offers to talk, but do so in conjunction with a professional. Hope you take this as an eye-opener.

I agree. But having a friend helps too. As testified by beerme earlier in the thread, he gained a friend under similar circumstances and it helped him greatly. Humans are social animals. Friends help. That's why most of us participate here. We're friends with a common interest.

I'm still not over it. Probably never will be.

I hate this stuff bad.

FAX
I've thought about this for a long time and in my depression I couldn't forgive others and I couldn't forgive myself. I think there should be said something about the power of forgiveness. I never felt worthy of a power greater than me (God) to love me and forgive me. The worse I felt the more I wanted to punish myself for feeling that way. I was on a road of self distruction like it or not. I beat myself up pretty bad & I was numb to see what it was doing to my family. I only thought I was hurting myself and no one else so that made it justifide. All I could see was a dark cloud inside my head nothing else. So a person isn't thinking it's a selfesh act but an act of a way out of hell or deep emotional mental pain that only the person that suffers from it can understand.

Can I suggest Mr. Fax to forgive your friend? Nothing is going to bring him back but I think it would do you a lot of good for your heart if you find a way to forgive him. If you havn't done that that is. You deserve to find closer when there are no ancers to what has happend.

Can I suggest Brainfo to find forgivness? Your not the only one who has made mistakes as a father and husband. Your not the only one who has these thoughts. Your not the only one. Same with you Kurt Cobain your not the only one.

Thank you Beer me, you gave me hope from your post because it is an every day struggle to deal with this kind of anguish & burdin to carry by myself. I'm thankful I have found friends in the community and here to help me deal with life.

I have grown from my mistakes in life and have been blessed for taking the time to make myself better with the help of friends and a God in my life. From alcolism, drugs, depression, suicide(2000), devorce, more drugs and alcohol another divorce and suicide (3 years ago), to being homeless for 9 months, my dad dieing in my arms. Through all that I have came out alive doing better than I deserve I got a home and my daughter to live with me and a son that comes for weekends I am thankful today for my glorious yet turbulent life.

Only thing is...
Now I have a bigger monster to deal with and that is a teenage daughter OMG now that is a sumbitch .

Going back and reading his last several posts, it's pretty obvious that the guy is disturbed. He went off on gblowfish, for Chrissakes.

Oh for ****'s sake, shut the hell up. If the guy was so far gone that someone on a football message board pushed him over the edge he wasn't long for the world anyway.

The sanctimonious bullshit this thread is over the top. No one on here caused the guy's problems, and no one here is going to solve them.

Good post KC Tattoo sharing about your experiences on this subject and giving advise to others on forgiveness.

Thank God i'm not one to hold grudges and i forgive people who do me wrong.
I think it is more of a burden to carry that around rather then to just forgive in your heart and let that weight off your shoulder.

On forgiveness Corrie Ten Boom, a Christian woman who survived a Nazi concentration camp during the Holocaust, said, "Forgiveness is to set a prisoner free, and to realize the prisoner was you."

Matthew 6:14-16
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Now forgiving someone may not come easy. And you may have to pray it into your heart daily. Also pray for that person. Look at them as God sees them. Have mercy and compassion.
