Brady Quinn getting half the first team reps
I am surprised this hasn't been posted yet, but according to the radio on 610 this morning, (Bill Maas and Fescoe) Quinn has been getting about 50% of the first team reps in practice this week.

In the short term this is certainly a good thing because Quinn certainly can't be worse than what Cassel has been so far. But I wonder, what if he starts and does decent? Decent enough to warrant not drafting a first round QB next year. I really want the team to win but I want it to be like last week against the Saints every week where we win in spite of the QB, not because of him or with him really contributing. If Quinn does decent will that preclude them from going hard after a QB next season? (If they ever were going to at all).

*EDIT* I found the podcasts where they talk about this. It starts at about 15:10.

Fescoe asks him how RAC feels about Cassel and so they talk about it. At around 15:10 when they talk about it Maas say, "They are keeping their options open...," then he goes on to elaborate around 15:45,

400 posts on a comment from Bill Maas to Bob Fesco? A comment that hasn't been confirmed by any beat writer or anybody within the rumor mill in the NFL?The same Bill Maas that's hung up on meth? Maas doesn't know shit about this team.

This franchise is going to trot Cassell out there until he's injured. He's not going to be benched. And he's certainly not going to be benched for another hack like Quinn.

Yeah, no one credible has mentioned it. All we can do is hope. Cassel plays worse against SD than any team so that coupled with an angry crowd could make this week the best chance for him to get benched....if its ever gonna happen

Quit trying to ruin our fantasy!

JC can't run for 200 yards every week, and that is what it takes for MC to win. And don't get me wrong, I absolutely love watching JC go off running the ball.

But last weekend was a total fluke. Down 24-6 mid to late 3rd quarter. And pull the game out by running the ball!! That formula isn't going to get it done on a regular basis.

We need a QB in the worst fugging way. And I for one am not sure Quinn is a hack, but I am ready to find out. If he is... put in Stanzi. If he is not... this team still has a chance.

I'm willing to bet that if Matt throws an early game INT that Romeo will feel the pressure from the fans to put in Quinn.

Cassel has thrown an INT in every game so far this year...And he's facing the team that he's always choked against.

It seems to be a smart move to get Brady some 1st team reps this week. Cassel is likely going to suck as usual against SD.

We might be in for a treat if Casshole throws an INT. We might get what we've all been waiting for. Anybody but Cassel.
