We've played well against the Angels and Orioles too. I think it's more a case of a team that's been here a million times stepping it up against a team with a struggling offense that hasn't been in this situation.

Just a bad matchup with them. Can't play defense against balls blistered to the wall. Meanwhile, we'll swing at anything, and against good starting pitching that doesn't play. By the time we get to their shitty bullpen, the fat lady has sung.

Still plenty of chances. Sherzer is wearing down and Detroits bullpen is dogshit.

Here's hoping Hosmer punched a wall in the dugout and re-fractured his hand. His bat is shit, Billy's D is shit. At this point, I'd rather have Billy. Hos is doing us no favors.

We're also busy swinging at shitty pitches to get ourselves in a hole, instead of waiting for more of those pitches in the middle of the plate.

Perhaps that is true, but if this team lacks the toughness to step up and get it done now, they would be toast in October anyway.

We're a much much better team with hot Billy at first.

Meh. I'll take Hosmer over Billy but it's not like I'm choosing between Barry Bonds and Ted Williams.

Anyone who thinks Perez should be untouchable is a moron. The guy is absolutely awful at the plate, he has the plate discipline of Vladimir Guerrero but about 1/4 of the actual hitting talent.

Detroit is just better, even with a poor pen (they can make up for it with awsome hitters). They've been there done that. It's a nice story but we're not going to the playoffs. Sorry, but Santa Claus isn't real either because if you believe this is a playoff team you believe that too. Truth hurts.
