Breaking news on ESPN. Talking heads on the phone discussing whats next for the Cardinals. This would be serious egg on the face if they are wrong. They must know something. They have MRI machines in Milwaukee. Maybe he had one but they Cardinals wanted to use their own before confirming their injury?

Fox Sports was the first ones with the report of season ending injury.

Even as a Cubs can I hate to see this happen. Wainwright is fun to watch pitch. One of the few true aces left in baseball. Hope he's able to fully recover from this

I'm just concerned about the BP being taxed later on, TBH.

Who knows what happens with Wacha. If the Cardinals have to count on Jaime ****ing Garcia to pitch 100+ innings, that's like counting on the French military for assistance. It ain't happening.

I know Marco's on the DL. I just don't see any good options in the system aside from him. Jaime's the next best thing, but his shoulder is being held together by glue, paper clips, and gum right now.

I'd rather risk it with Hamels(I don't know that's possible without giving up C-Mart) at the right cost. IMO, one of Grichuk/Piscotty is expendable. Wouldn't mind trading Reyes.

If you take an MRI immediately after a soft tissue injury like that it can give a false diagnosis due to the swelling around the affected area.

I think trading Reyes would be a huge mistake. His K-rates are absolutely insane.

Umm yeah the Phillies can go get ****ed for the ransom they would want for Hammels.

Why would you give up CMart for Hammels? You could argue Martinez is better right now anyways.

Aside from my dream of shooting for the moon, I would have no problem with Harang being a stop gap. Unlike Masterson last year, he's actually been pitching well. I don't think he'd cost more than someone like Diaz.
