He may be better now. But, he is definitely worth more than Hammels IMHO.

It's a tough loss, but compared to the rest of the division, Cards are still the best team, even without Wainwright, particularly with the Pirates' bullpen issues. At most, go get a veteran innings eater before the deadline. No need to give up the farm for Hamels.

I agree. But, my thinking is not a divisional title but a WS title. If Lynn and Wacha can pitch in the playoffs like they have so far, we will be fine.

Molina lost on Friday for an undetermined time

Waino lost for season on Saturday

Heyward left the field on Sunday, calf injury?

Figured as much with Waino. From experience it looked like an Achilles and even if it isn't torn it's a bitch to come back from.

Any more converts for DH in the NL as well? Freak accident to Waino but the amount of money and importance these pitchers are getting no need for them to be batting IMO.

Even before Waino and Scherzer this year, there was already a ton of talk of it being in the new CBA.

it was a freak accident. Pitchers getting hurt batting or running the bases are few and far between. Not a valid reason to change to a DH league.

More offense and not having to watch pitchers wail at the plate is a more valid reason.

Ryan Howard blew out his Achilles coming out of the box and he's a full-time player. Schilling tore the tendon sheath in his foot fielding a swinging bunt.

They're baseball players. This shit is going to happen. Unfortunately, the Cardinals continue to be abso****inglutely snakebit with injuries. It's been that way for 20 ****ing years.

The DH is an abomination, baseball payers play baseball meaning they ht. The DH makes the pitcher a thrower and not a baseball player. Hitting is half the game.

Cards pitching has enough depth to survive Waino being out but we need better offense. Either more power or better hitting with RISP. We have a huge hole in the #4 spot.
