Madden '17
Anyone getting a little excited? Seems like they have really made an effort this year.

Franchise mode is getting an overhaul according to recent news:

1. Full player editing while your franchise is progressing.



2. Coaching/FO decisions.



3. In-game ticker with live updates.



4. Practice squads.



5. New commentary team that will actually talk about things happening in your franchise.

6. Draft has been tweaked with more busts/gems.

Gameplay improvements:

1. Zone Coverage overhaul.



2. New ball-carrier special moves.

3. Real gap control on defense.

4. Real ball physics. In the past the ball would tether to a player based on ratings.

They also overhauled kicking to make it a challenge now. There's a new three-click system and weather/location will play a factor. Also, apparently on clutch kicks if the opponent "freezes" the kicker by calling a timeout the kicking meter will disappear and you have to make the kick by muscle memory. Kicks and punts can also be blocked.

How badly all of this shit is ****ed up on release remains to be seen but it does seem like they are making a big effort.

If you don't lower CPU QB accuracy EVERY QB completes 90 percent of their passes.

Madden's draft calculus seems to have changed significantly. The last Madden I owned (a damn long time ago now) had it so you were damn lucky to pull a 75 in the first round. Now he's getting 72 UDFAs? 70s in the 4th and 5th rounds?

Granted, there wasn't even much of a scouting mechanism on my last Madden so the game's changed so much that maybe this was necessary, it's just interesting to note the distinctions.

Huh, I'm not experiencing that on All-Madden. Maybe they've patched it?

I just went up against the Bengals and Dalton went something like 11-20 for 185.
Might want to check it out.

I have to admit that this Madden is the best in 8 years at least. The draft mechanic is quite detailed. This is the first one I've bought new for a long time and the draft is pretty awesome.

FYI this is the play you're referring to and I played it perfectly. His TAK rating is too low, apparently, and the animation didn't kick in.
