I'm Going On Record And Saying We Pick Thomas Davis

FS/OLB with our 15th pick in the draft. It won't matter if we have acquired a CB either he'll be the pick. I really like him and it would be a great pick if we were to have Surtain on board but that looks like a long shot so hopefully a good CB will fall to us in the 2nd as well as the later rounds. It's a deep draft for CBs all the way through.

I don't want Blackstock at #15 either but I know they're high on him and at times have been known to reach for players. Anyone know for sure how high they are on Ware?

Well I'm hedging now Now I think we pick Davis or trade down with the Rams at #19 so we have a 2nd rounder. 50-50 chance.....

Trading down to 19 would be a good move.

By far, Thomas Davis is the best match for what we need on defense. His versatility, speed and physical demeanor mirrors what Gun is trying to put together.

If Davis wants to play LB I take him unless Rogers is available. Then we look for June 1 cut victims or give Fox a shot at OLB.

As much as I like Davis It makes sense. The Saints pick 16th and they want Davis from what I've gathered and the Rams want Davis too so being in the same division I can see the Rams over paying in a trade to beat out the Saints. That trade would normally garner a 3rd rounder but I think we can get a 2nd rounder out of the Rams. The Rams do have two 3rd rounders but we need a 2nd. Sound famliar? Or we could just take Davis and go on......

I'm good with that but I can see a trade happen under the circumstances. We won't pass on Davis unless we can extort another team to give up a more then they should. That's not my plan it's what I see happening.

yup

Now that Surtain is on board, two things are true:

CP wants to get his 2nd back
DV wants a WR

so....if Davis is there at 15, we can simply take him (and I think we should)....or, we can bid New Orleans and St. Louis against each other and see who will pay the most (a 3rd, but maybe someone's crazy enough to give a 2nd)....then we drop a couple of spots and draft Clayton (or Pollack which I'd much prefer)

you know DV is politic-ing hard for the WR he's desired since arriving at KC....I think Davis is a no-brainer superior player to Clayton, but since CP has bought us so many FA toys lately I won't complain (even though it leaves with a hole at OLB)...

Davis
Clayton...........the clock is ticking

How bout Marlin Jackson or Fabian Washington at #19 and a WR in the second. Reggie Brown maybe.

I'm bein' pessimistic...thinking we can trade down to Indy, Pitt, or Philly...if we can get STL to swap with us, and hand us a second...I'd be all for that.

I'd take Jackson...but I think CP/DV would take Clayton...if they go WR in the 2nd I think they'll want to trade down farther in the first for a LB/CB

like I said, I won't complain, but I think Davis (who I've heard described as the hardest hitter in the draft) is a superior talent and a smart DC could wreak havoc with him...he would give us a sweet blitzing nickle package

or (lol)...trade down for Pollack, and then a LB in the 2nd, a WR in the 3rd...who knows, we are in a great position imho

I'm pretty sure the Rams would like to draft Davis and although he didn't it would be to get Davis I heard the Rams Director Of Player Personel say that if a player they wanted wouldn't last to 19th they'd start making calls around 15th or 16th. Well we know thay ain't gonna call the Saints at 16th to make a deal so it would be us or the Texans. The Texans are 14th I think with out checking. If the Saints want Davis and the Rams want Davis we may be in business with a 2nd. If we can't get a 2nd then we take Davis. And that's what we tell them........I'd still take Davis but I can see the wheels turning on this one.

You gotta have a partner to trade. Who else is a real candidate?
