You're basing far to much off of his size than his talent........Dwight Freeney plays every day, Simeon Rice plays every down. Jason Taylor, Jevon Kearse, if you wanna tell me Abraham is to expensive that's a legit arguement.

But to say "we don't need him cause we have Allen" is simply stupid in my view.

Hell, maybe we should switch to a cover 2, the few good players on D we have could play in it.

If we switch to a cover 2 then that's fine...but I don't think we retained Gunther for that purpose.

Mitchell, Johnson, Fox, Allen. They can play in a cover 2.....so that would also allow us to dump the Barber and Bell contracts. We'd need a new FS but we need that anyway.

We probably won't switch to cover 2 but it probably would have been a good idea when you look at our personel.

If Tamba Hali was still there when we picked I think we'd be foolish not to take him. Anyone who's seen any PSU games this year can tell you he is a factor on just about every passing play. It's been a while since I've seen one guy consistently create so much havoc. He lives in the other teams backfield. Also, I believe he plays opposite Jared Allen (LDE).

Also, Browning is at the tail end of his career. However, he has not been obsolete for years. IMO, if he had been allowed to play his best position, DE, for his entire career he may have established himself quite nicely. He has consistently been our best defensive lineman over the past few years. Unfortunately for him, because the defense could plug him in anywhere that he was needed most and be able to count on him doing his usual steady job, he never got the chance to excel. If he had played alongside other decent players he would have had a very nice career for the chiefs, IMO.

If you draft Kiwi planning that he will gain 40 pounds, then you might as well pencil him as a 4-year project at DT, rather than DE.

Why would anyone think Kiwanuka is going to gain 40lbs? Why would anyone think Kiwanuka would gain 40lbs and still be an effective DE? He's a speed rusher.

That was pretty much my response to Mecca's post in the Senior Bowl thread.

Kiwi is a speed rusher that happens to be 6'7" tall. He's gonna play at 260 lbs. or thereabouts.

Try to put weight on him and you turn him into a guy that basically nullified his one gift - speed rushing.

We need a Great Big Fat Guy at DT with a few years under his belt.

Junior may one day develop into the Fat Guy of the Future that we all hoped he would be -- but I very seriously doubt it will be with the Chiefs if it happens.

Sims is meant to be the explosive DT -- but those only work when there is a Great Big Fat Guy next to them. Browning and Wilkerson are both listed under 300 lbs.

Frankly, I would rather pick up a reliable FA Fat Guy.

Free agent DT's very rarely work out. I'd take a flyer on him, but I wouldn't plan on him being any better than Lionel Dalton.
