I agree that this is a worn out tired subject and doesn't mean shit in the whole sceme of things but this is a well written article IMO. The read doesn't take on the flavor of a childrens book like so many of your others do. I believe it's the first one of yours I kept intrust in and didn't click out near the begining.

Gunther talked about creating a defensive culture in KC. Dick's entire culture was offense-oriented.
didnt he sign barber and a few others during the GR era?

Also, didnt Gun also say he could win with the players he had on the field before the season ever started, then once he realized the talent wasnt there, he said he needed bettter players?

I wouldn't know. I don't frequent other team's message forums.

I doubt you'd wanna be a fan of that team, though. They don't have a coach who's more likely to cry his eyes out than win a playoff game.

If you feel Sammy Knight is playing better, you should say Thanks to Ty Law. He has openly instructed him on the field how to play his position. Herm was DB, and has clearly made a difference in that area. James Reed and Ron Edwards were not here under Dick.

Not by many of us.

I know it may seem like a long time ago to you, but Dick Vermeil did not coddle Ryan Sims. He was on his case from day one for his holdout. He attributed his quick Rookie injury to not being in camp. How did Herm do with Junior Siavii and Ryan Sims so far? So are you saying it's Dick's fault for drafting two guys that can not perform and can not be coached?

I agree with some of what you said, but yes, it's Dick's fault for drafting two guys who can not perform and can not be coached. At least somewhat.

He didn't do shit. He coached a bunch of underachievers. The entire NFL looks at the Chiefs as underachievers and it's all thanks to that sad sack.

Now I know I'm dealing with a very, very sad Dick Vermeil apologist.

Again, . Kris Wilson for MVP!

Herm got rid of the shitcan that was Junior Siavii, something Vermeil never had the balls to do. Herm knows dogshit when he sees it.

Ryan Sims? Playing better than he ever did under Vermeil, and thanks to Herm's collab on getting Reed and Edwards, Sims is what he should be - a backup.

Exactly, and to continue, he then said it was Dick's fault after he left. This team finally has so much talent on Defense that not even Gunther can **** it up.

Inconsequential. Gunther wasn't going to come out and say "I can't win with these players."
