Since he's been lining up in the backfield we've had a much more potent receiving threat since he's used as a TE/WR/FB. He's being used the way Al always wanted to use him and it's actually working. His two TDs in the past 3 weeks shows that he IS making a difference out there.

You know I remember when we drafted Wilson we envisioned this kind of play. Another variable for defenses to account for. Someone to punish them with when they double-team Tony. Great stuff.

I like the H-back role. Mr. Iowanian has it exactly right. Wilson puts palpable pressure on the enemy defense through his ability to motion out of the backfield opening opportunities for both LJ and the pass.

I've noticed that his blocking is good, but not great. But, almost all our blockers are giving up on their blocks a tad too early. On numerous occasions this year, LJ would have broken a long off-tackle or run off the edge had his blockers held their blocks for a split second longer. Herm needs to work on that.

That was my thought line as well, Jordan Black stepping up at left tackle has been huge for us. While Wilson is doing better as a FB then he is at TE, seeing the field during the game alone is an improvement for this guy.

Scroll up on this thread. Someone has LJ's 40 yard run vs. the Rams. Wilson makes the outside block on the corner that springs LJ. That play is blocked perfectly. The hole is exactly where its drawn up on the board.

Yeah, Wilson's been a nice surprise at FB.

He spends most of his snaps inside as a conventional FB/H-back, but on a few plays he slides way outside(on his TDs) and creates a mismatch with a LB.
