SI: The Chiefs are a Trainwreck

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...dgments/1.html

• If there's a train wreck waiting to happen early in the NFL this season, it looks to me like it'll occur on offense in Kansas City. The Chiefs scored just two offensive touchdowns this preseason, and while they made the right decision to start the season with veteran quarterback Damon Huard under center rather than Brodie Croyle, points could be at a premium in September until running back Larry Johnson rounds into shape and the re-tooled offensive line finds some kind of form.

Copied into this post due to extreme truthfulness. I completely agree, Mr. Rausch. It's far too early to panic.

Anyway, in order to have a train wreck, one must at least be moving.

Train Wrecks? When I think trainwrecks I think of Oakland, Cardinals, Falcons, Lions. Not the chiefs, we did pretty well last year and made improvements this off season.

Many of you guys are getting your panties in a bunch.

We haven't even played a real game yet.

I love how people let the media bait them into freaking out. Yes Preseason sucked, but it's time for football. Whatever comes out of this season it will be good for the team IMO. A bad season will allow us the chance to bring in Brodie and really find out if he's got the goods or if we draft someone in 2008. A playoff appearence would get the team some more experience playing in the playoffs. Win or Lose I'm still going to be a Chiefs fan, and I don't give two flying ****s what Peter King, JW, or any other journalist has to say about my team. They won't run me off from supporting my Chiefs, regardless of the complete crap they always have, and will continue to unload about this team.

Good God...we got Herm, Carl, and their respective wives and kids posting on this thread.

Lot's of folks posting here have been Chief fans before the Carl/Herm dynamic duo and will be after they fade into the sunset. Doesn't mean we can't critique what we see as fatal flaws in the system.

My guess is that the Chiefs will win 5 or 6 games this year. That being said - we will do it playing real football, not that arena league fluff.

The more articles I see like this, the more convinced I am we'll have an 11 or 12 win season.

I'm not saying that things aren't bad. I just think it is ridiculous for people around here to base so much off of what the media says about the Chiefs. I always see someone on here post a thread like this and there are several that just agree the season is going to be flop. The fact is that none of us, even the so called experts know what is going to happen. I'm not planning on making it to the playoffs, but this team has as good of a chance as any. I'm all for any bashing of Carl and his mediocrity, but I just find it incredible that chiefs fans take the media so seriously. Especially when they never take the chiefs team seriously. JMHO. Homeristic or not.
