I hope his knee holds up week 2 against the Donks. People whine enough about Denver's perfectly legal cut blocks...even though EVERY team does it. It'll be that much more absurd if Merriman gets lazy with his technique and has his knee exploded by an expertly executed cut block.

Honestly I do not know why it has not been banned.. If horsecollar tackling is banned for a few injuries then cut blocks need to be banned also.. Keep the pussification going to the offensive side also..

It's going to be nearly impossible to outlaw cut blocking. There's really no reason for it to be axed. It's effective, and the only time defenders are hurt is when they are lazy and don't use their hands to fight it off. There are of course exceptions. (See Steve Herndon taking out Jamaal Williams.)...but for the most part it's clean.

I know everyone on this board understands the difference between a cut block, and a chop block...but a lot of people like to see the two as one in the same. As a Donks fan I've heard it all for years. I don't like the cheap shots, but all teams are guilty of those...including KC. I know to Chiefs fan...all forms of cheating were created in Denver.

Back on topic. Steroids or not Merriman is a special athlete. Understanding that the Dolts wanted him to play all a long...I wonder if the specialists made him think that going under the knife won't make him right again. Who really knows for sure...but this situation doesn't seem right.

The man has been warned and has decided to forego advice given by more than one doctor.

I guess if anyone knows how much Merriman can handle it should be Merriman.

I hope the best for him but in the NFL I don't think most players can play at a 100% without a 100% healthy body. A broken finger or a something alike can be compensated for.

Torn PCL and LCL on the same knee? Dude must be on steroi......... Oh wait

Actually it would be funny to see Priest sign for one game if he gets the chance to block for LJ and then retire again after he puts a helmet into his knee..

I don't fault LJ for his poor blocking in Miami. He shouldn't be asked to block guys like Matt Roth.

His blocking was good against the Cardinals. He had a FANTASTIC cut block on a blitzing LB on one play.

Priest Holmes took on guys twice his size and did a damn good job.

Maurice Jones-Drew laid Merriman out on a block.

There is no excuse for this useless bastard, and the sooner that useless ****er is gone, the better.
