Without cable, I pay more attention to local broadcast staffing. WDAF changed ownership fairly recently, and these new owners are costcutting like crazy. Business is business, and I understand why they keep letting people go - even people I like. They are burning up a certain amount of goodwill, tho. That may bite them in the ass before it's over. We already have one David Glass. This town ain't big enough for two.

Mark Alford hasn't been on their morning show for a few days, I've been trying to figure out if he's on vacation or headed somewhere that offers a paid vacation.

Pudgie has been on WDAF for 28 years, that's a pretty good tv career.

This is true. Its one of the reasons why local sports segments have been dying a slow death for the past several years.

On the other hand, people will always want some sort of a local sports slant. They just may not get it from the local nightly news anymore. Wasnt the Channel 5 sports outsourced a few years back?
