UFL on Versus

Looks pretty cool so far. This is not arena football. Just normal football, it seems. Several of these guys have been in the NFL at one point or another. Is this the new NFL minor league?

The Tuskers are undeterred by Samie Parker's offensive production.

I'm sure the NHL is real happy about the Vs./DirecTv deal. I wish ESPN would start showing NHL again.

This thread really reads as a joke. If I didn't know better I wouldn't believe there was a UFL. Is it really worth watching? I mean is the football good? If it has Craphonso, and Sammie it must be epic!

The football actually isnt too bad. There are a ton of guys who played in the NFL plus all 4 Head coaches are ex NFL guys: Fassel, Haslett, Denny Green and Ted Cottrell.

The biggest problems are the look of the crowds (looks to only be about 5 or 6 thousand at each game) and the TV commentator crews are not the best.

He said they offered to keep the cost to Directv the same as their original contract and Directv declined. He said Directv wanted to put vs. on a higher price tier and vs. refused to let them.

I finally caught this for the first time last night. Since i don't have NFL network i figured last night was a good time to check it out.

Overall, i thought it was fine. I wasn't to impressed with Kordell Stewart as the sideline reporter, but overall i thought the telecast was ok.

The football seemed pretty good. Lots of player names that i recognized...Ingle Martin, Quinn Gray, Simeon Rice, Rob Petitti, Cecil Sapp, Seth Wand, Tatum Bell, and more.

The one thing that did stand out was that the stands were EMPTY!

Other than that, i was pleased. I would have rather been watching SF and CHI, but that complaint/argument is for another thread.
