:( Some Chargers News I Just Learned

Good news and Bad news

The Good: The Chargers are bringing in Jon Runyan to fill their empty RT position. Hopefully he passes a physical.

The Bad: According to Kevin Acee (Chargers Beat Writer), the Chargers are about to sign Norv Turner to a very long extension, possibly until 2014.

I found this all on a Chargers forum I frequent.

As posted, he had a shoulder issue. Huge question mark at the time. Had Rivers been a lousy QB, you could make this a legitimate arguement.

BTW The Chargers signing Jon Runyan isn't such a good thing. As a Chiefs fan I hope he starts this week VS us. The guy was extremely inconsistent all last year and gave up 8 sacks to go along with over 30 pressures. I wouldn't consider him much of an upgrade over the backup they have now.

Norv Turner has won more playoff games with "Marty's team" than Marty.

And it never was Marty's teams.

One of the main reasons that Marty and AJ Smith had a falling out is because AJ Smith basically told Marty to shut the **** up anytime he tried to offer input into player acqusition.

Marty and Carl earned much of their reputation early on with Jack Steadman's players.

Once the core group of Steadman's players started to decline, the Chiefs started to decline, because you can't build a core through free agency and crappy drafts.

Interesting point. Never really looked at it that way.
