OK Jason.
Either you don't watch DJ play, or you don't know shit about football.
DJ is a situational player IMO. I don't think i want him on the field all the time.
He seems to be put into games, in position to make big plays, but has less time on the field do something stupid, or half hearted. I really think heart is DJs problem. He doesn't show it consistently.
Him trying to make the best of his seemingly, limited opportunities, is best for all parties.

Anyone that actually took the time to watch the games would know that Derrick Johnson made a half a dozen bad plays for every good play he made.

JW is saying that DJ has the speed to be around the ball. It was his speed that set up the circumstance for the knee to the head. Mays or Williams didn't knee Ben to the head because they didn't have the speed to get close to the ball.

Hopefully DJ can help knock off Pip Rivers head today.
no .. you're right. DJ is the one that knocked Ben out ... he also made a couple of other good plays.

the problem is that he screwed up double digit play as well.

2 good plays do not offset 12 bad plays.

Of course there is also the fact he was already being tackled by the time DJ got there late to knee him in the head.

DJ didn't make a play when Ben got hurt, he showed up after someone else had already tackled him, which is also fairly standard for him.

If DJ could just get the bulb to come on he would be a beast. He has the skills to really benefit from the switch to the 3-4. He clearly HAS the talent to dominate but for whatever reason he can't get to right place AND finish the play with any kind of consistency. It's truly maddening.

He has speed but lacks body control. He can't get to the point of attack with enough body control to break down and make a solid fundamental tackle. I don't think that will ever change.

Yea, or he runs into the wash at the POA. You would think he could learn how to overcome those two things because they are mental not physical. Thus far tho he has shown no signs of figuring that out. Such a waste of talent.

It was an accident.
He hit him with his knee because he missed with his shoulder pads, as usual.

I'm really scared that DJ IS going to figure it out one day.
In Denver or San Diego.
That gives me the willies.

Id like to start off with a I like an article about the team once in awhile. Thanks JW

I also agree with the DJ observation. I know that is gonna be unpopular but I have never cared about that so much. Did DJ miss multiple tackles? yes. Was DJ close to a 4 sack dominant performance style game? yes. He obviously isnt there yet, but is a lot closer to the guy we drafted than he has been to this point.

I bet he has a big day today where he is a little more focused.

I used to have the same opinion about DJ, not any more. The guy is not a rookie, not a second year player. He is what he is. Any time spent waiting on him to get it it is wasted time.

Bu bye.
