Why?

Everyone else here knows how I felt about him, which is the reason you have people laughing at your dumbass comments on this subject.

But to your point, Herman ****ing Edwards didn't destroy this franchise, Dick did.

Herman ****ing Edwards was just too stupid to fix it, even if he and Carl had the greatest drafts in history.

Vermeil left the Chiefs with a border line playoff-caliber team, a team that finished 10-6, had the #1 ranked offense in the NFL and a defense with young talent such as Scott Fujita, Jared Allen and Derrick Johnson. Was it Vermeil's job to ensure that the Chiefs 5 years later were Super Bowl contenders? No

Herm Edwards SYSTEMATICALLY destroyed the Chiefs as a franchise by ignoring the decaying offensive line, trading Jared Allen and entering TWO seasons with the likes of Damon Huard, Brodie Croyle and Tyler Thigpen as the team's only options at QB.

That has NOTHING to do with Vermeil, yet the fact you refuse to hold Herm 100% accountable speaks volumes.

Do you have a sexual fetish for black head coaches? Do you like the fact Herm uses mostly one syllable words that makes it easy for someone with your limited education/comprehension level to understand?

The core of this team right now should be the players drafted during Dick's tenure as HC.

Instead, we got Jack and Shit.

So you're saying that a team should build a franchise on 3 players who are under 30 and good?

#1 - The offensive line was one of about a billion holes left for Herm. You have to prioritize somewhere. Didn't help that rather than let Herm tear the team up and rebuild, Peterson insisted on bringing in old free agent stopgaps to try to push the window out one year further.
#2 - Jared Allen wasn't traded by Herm. That's ridiculous. He was traded because Carl Peterson was such a dipshit that he tried to publicly criticize Allen as an at-risk player so he could lowball him in negotiations.
#3 - Okay, fine, true

Nothing to do with Vermeil? Nothing? That's comical

Glad people are finally on board with me here. It's comments like these that were spreading like wildfire. Nobody is defending Herm as a good coach. But I think people are starting to see that he did inherit a shitty situation and I think a lot of people thought he was bringing this team along nicely, if we had stuck with the 4-3. Nobody defends his coaching decisions. But at least people are starting to see that no matter who took over as coach for Vermeil was in a very bad, losing situation.

Vermeil retired FIVE years ago.

Are you suggesting Vermeil is more at fault than Herm?

Nope. His throwaway drafts were a thing of beauty though, and that's why the team is where it is today.

There are 3 players still here that were drafted by the Chiefs during the DV era. Remember Jared Allen was drafted as a long snapper? Drafting Eddie Freeman in the 2nd rd after not working him out, but rather taking him out to dinner? That's the kinda shit you dealt with when it came to drafting players in the DV era. There should be A LOT more players on this team from 5 years ago if this team had any idea on how/who to draft.
