How fast? Shaun Smith Car spinoff thread

I started a thread like this years ago, but oh well. How fast is the fastest you have gone in a vehicle. I don't care if it's street, strip, or race. I know this is a sensitive subject to some people, and I always drive about 5-7mph over, but I've taken a few rides pretty fast, nothing crazy though.

2008 Charger(non hemi)------115mph---Freeway 2am no traffic
1979 Cutlass 455 big block-----under 80-90 It's my project car and the front end is terrible, I did not want to challenge death.

I have never had a desire to go fast as in high MPH, I like 0-60 fast!!

fastest on the street was on 71hwy between Belton and Peculiar, and I was riding with a LEO who was on his bike; got to about 145.
the 160 was at HPT. ( say "160", but it's sort of a guess; last time I looked down it was cresting going pretty hard through 145-ish)
never really cared for top speed (especially on the street); but would run the alphabet twisties at 'slightly' more than what was posted; or as I call it - a "spirited" pace.

^that. not to mention there has been several times I'd come out of a 45MPH corner and be in the meat of the power band, open it up; wheel comes up and you get sort of tunnel vison from the blood moving back.

Me either. Sold mine 4 weeks ago. If I get another supersport, it'll be for track days. Would like to get a DRZ-400sm for around town though

Have taken my 99 GTP to it's chip-limited 138 MPH 10-12 times through the years. There's a stretch of 255 over in Madison County that's very flat and very straight, out in the middle of the river flats, and I'd often find myself taking it home late in the evening.
No way in heck I would go that fast, I was going 110+ in my charger on straight and clear freeway and It was fast, I cant imagine 50mph more in a Rustang, heck in anything lol.

FFS, I did 109 [again chip limited, countless times in my [now my sis's] '94 Grand Am]. Did 120 in the GTP with 4 classmates on the way to a visit to Labadie Plant last fall, and only the guy in the front seat even noticed that I'd sped up [catching up with the caravan in a big valley about 10 miles SW of 6 flags].

140 mph in a Dodge Lancer.

105 mph in a 1978 Triumph Spitfire with the top down on K-10. As I saw the Mach 1 scene from The Right Stuff flash through my mind, I distinctly heard Scotty say, "She's breaking apart, Captain!"

Must’ve had a solid rocket booster strapped to the trunk or something.

Got up to 90 in a Dodge Dynasty and I was scared shitless. Can't fathom why anyone would want to go faster.

Depends on what you're driving.

90 MPH in my T/A feels like 65. 65 In my Accord feels like 90. 90 in a Dodge Dynasty i would be scared shitless too.
