Unruly passenger in airplane

Watch this video: http://news.yahoo.com/video/unruly-p...001607829.html

It said that there were 8000 cases like that happened in 2013.

Have you guys come across such experience in flight?

What ticks off these people?

I've told the story before, but my only unruly flight story is from many years ago, back when Southwest had the rows of seats facing each other. My boss at the time and I ended up sitting across from a guy who had lost both legs and one arm when trying to jump aboard a freight train as a hobo. He was suing the freight train company, because of course this was clearly their fault, and he was on his way to the trial or some other legal meeting.

He was not quite lucid and was ordering alcoholic beverages and claiming that my boss was a celebrity, so when we had a stopover in Phoenix we switched seats at my boss's request. Personally, I found the guy entertaining.

Apparently on the next leg of the flight the alcohol started kicking in and he ended up hitting a flight attendant with his one remaining arm, so they kicked him off when they landed. I don't know if he was arrested or anything. I never even noticed anything happening, and I think we found out from the stewardesses or something.
I wonder if he sued the airline

One time a few years ago I was chaperoning a youth football team to a tourney in Vegas. I don't do well in tight spots, I guess I might even be a little claustrophobic, but it's never been a problem. Well, we had a layover on the return flight in Albuquerque, and they wouldn't let us off the plane. We sat on the tarmac for like 45 minutes to an hour, and these damn kids started getting unruly (as teenagers will do when there's nothing to do). I felt myself getting a little surly, but I wasn't going to blame the airlines or the flight attendants. Though, I WISH they served alcohol when you are on the ground...would have taken some of the edge off...

With the high amount of human idiocy in today's society, the stress and irritability of modern day air travel, and the amount of human beings on one airplane, I am surprised this kind of thing does not happen more often.

There was a guy kicked off the Southwest plane I was on, last night. He was sitting right in front of me. The flight attendant asked him how he was doing, he said, "Oh, I'm drunk." They had a security guard come onto the plane and escort him off.

There's apparently a new FAA regulation that if you tell someone on a plane that you're drunk, that you can't fly.

Yeah, it's a challenge on multiple fronts.

1. People are more rude and demanding these days. And as air fares got cheaper over the past decade, airlines got a little more of the Greyhound crowd that doesn't play well with others.
2. Airlines treat passengers as dollars and not as humans. I'm talking about corporate, not the customer service people on the plane and at the gate. This is about leg room and ticket policies and hidden charges.
3. The airport experience is necessarily unpleasant these days due to security, which increases stress going into the situation.

I want to see a report compiled on how many times alcohol prevented some stressed out travler from round housing a pissy flight attendent for nothing else other than she/he hates her job and likes to take it out on people. Or prevented some guy from losing it because he was seated next to a Jehovah's witness that won't shut up about being saved or losing it because of a baby screaming for 2 hours straight or one of the other million reasons to hate flying. I know it's saved me a couple times and I doubt I'm the only one.

I think more than half the anger is created by the flight crews and airlines. Between silly delays "for your safety", and those delays being poorly communicated, it's not hard to understand why people who only know there's a "mechanical issue" (which at times is a light bulb) is keeping them from making a connecting flight.

Occasionally I've had pilots who announced the status every five minutes, but more often than not they're more than happy with 30-45 minute updates. And the usually-fat-ass "flight attendants" sure do make those of us who flew in the 60 and 70 long for the days of stewardesses... The angry hungry-hungry hippos they have these days that make up 60-70% of the flight attendants usually suck.

Add TSA's useless existence that only seems to hinder the innocent traveler and almost never the terrorist, and you're already pissed off by the time the first hippo has you in their sights!

For every one drunk that can't handle their liquor and wigs out on a plane, there are probably 99 drunks that just sleep through the flight. It's not like alcohol is the issue.

Personally, I buy the cheapest ticket I can find, so I don't expect the royal treatment.

The only thing that makes me think I am getting a raw deal in coach is when I get seated next to someone who's so fat they take up part of my seat. I realize I am flying economy, but I bought 1 whole seat, I should get to use 1 whole seat. I paid like $20 a square inch for this chair, tubbo. Stay on your side of the armrest.

Farting doesn't make the fat person smaller or me more comfortable...
