Ten Things About Today's Game

Ten Things About Today's Game

10. This weekend has been a great time to live in Kansas City. The Royals clinched their second World Series in a row Friday night with a thrilling ninth inning shutdown of Toronto. The weather here is perfect, the trees and turning colors, and as Bill Grigsby used to say "It's a Beau-ti-ful Day for football." When your team is 1-5, you don't expect much. So today was pretty stress free. Nothing really riding on today's game. Pittsburgh is in a fight for the NFC North, so this game meant much more to them. This morning I thought this would be a good time to use the Ten Things to show some of our CPers who don't live in KC, and have never been to Arrowhead, what the tailgate thing looks like. So I took my camera and snapped some pictures as the morning progressed. We'll do a little of that before talking game stuff.

Spoiler!

We won all three games.
That's what I thought.

I wasn't paying attention to the defense. Were they loading 8 in the box?

I almost wonder if Reid ran more because the defense gave the run game more rope. It's still stupid for Reid to ignore Jamaal. But maybe it explains what's going on here.

Who cares? We have Jamaal ****ing Charles. In 8 seasons he's never averaged less than 5.0 YPC.

Run him and run him often then pass to Kelce/Maclin off the play action. That should be money in the bank.

Like I said, it's stupid for Reid to ignore him. I am just wondering if that's why he's doing it.

That's an angle that never occurred to me so I can't say with certainty. Maybe you're onto something..

But it's still horseshit. Watching this team when we try and place an emphasis on the pass first is nothing short of disastrous. Such a laborious effort to move the chains.

First thing that went through my head was he was trying to put him in an ankle bar. That was a slimy ****ing play and should have been an ejection and suspension.

Super job George, wins are great. How about that Dee Ford stuff on the fourth down play? It was nice to see, hopefully he can build on it.

As little as I caught of the game, I actually saw this play and was cursing the TV at the ****ing ref. Eric Fisher does the first good thing in his career by stepping up and not taking that bullshit from the Steeler player and the ref penalizes him for it.

That was some dirty shit.

I was still boiling from that shitty non-OPI call. Shoved Peters clean off him right in front of the ref.

IMO, both players had hands all over each other right before the ball got there... but if I was ref, I would have called against Brown... who I thought got a better push.

and that is a non-biased opinion, because I was rooting for a Chiefs loss.

One of the first things that went through my head was "did I just gain respect for Eric Fisher?" And yeah, that's worthy of a suspension easily. On a side note, when you look up 'ankle bar' on google it's not what I was expecting.

Good read George. Nice to see a nice win on a nice day.

It bears noting that if Big Ben is playing Pitt fists us. Hard.

It's good the Chiefs acknowledged and catered to the Royals. I couldn't be more proud of those guys. Nice to see the Choefs acknowledge their accomplishment.
