I'm not saying they couldn't try and sell that bullshit, but he threw a towel in the air mimicking a ref throwing a flag. Unless you (general you, not you specifically) argue that players are in grave danger from all the yellow flags all over the field, acting like that was any sort of "attack" is ridiculous.

As I recall that is what Gene Seritore, sp? the head ref said while explaining the ejection. That it was for a personal attack on a ref. Which is also why they imposed both penalties.
It is the act more than what was thrown.
