Not true.

Division record only matters to break division tiebreakers, not conference tiebreakers.

First tiebreaker is conference schedule. Both teams would have one AFC loss, which means it goes to 2nd tiebreaker.

Second tiebreaker is common opponents, minimum of 4. We have 4 common opponents and we beat all 4. If Pittsburgh loses to Buffalo, we win the 2nd tiebreaker.

As for the bye, it's not about HFA. That extra game introduces additional risk in terms of things going wrong, fatigue, injuries. As DaFace said the other day, strictly from a statistical standpoint, having the bye increases our chances of getting the Super Bowl by a whopping 43%. It's significant.

As DaFace said, if we're going to lose one more game this year NO stands out as the game we'll lose.
I'm having a hard time believing Brees will be back. Sounded like he broke about every rib in his body along with a punctured lung. I guess maybe that first round bye they are chasing could push him out there, but they need him in the playoffs for any hope of Super Bowl run.

So they are strong in areas where the Chiefs have issues.

I think the Chiefs will still win that game, but I also think it is likely that Mahomes will have to do something special to earn that win. This will not be a game where the Chiefs will be able to get a 6-point lead and then fool around for 3 quarters, as they've been able to do for awhile now. They're going to have to play a pretty complete game, on both sides of the ball to win this one.

Every other game they have left just aren't going to have the same urgency, because none of those other teams aren't in the same zipcode as the Chiefs.
I realize the chargers head coach is mentally-challenged, but that game worries me, given the trouble they've given us the past few times we've played each other.

ESPN has a good tool for determining tie-breakers. If Steelers lose to Bills, and we lose to Saints, we get the bye.

The way the Saints talk, he might not play again the regular season.

I'm pretty confident we'll be facing Hill.

If the Steelers lose to Buffalo and the Chiefs win out, the loss to the Redskins means nothing. Other than showing what we already know. That the Steelers are frauds.

And I'll believe Cleveland can beat the Steelers when they actually do it.

The Steelers barely beat Dallas and the NYG but blew the doors off of Cleveland.

Week 4 of the season. A lot has changed for both teams. But then again, if Cleveland doesn’t beat Baltimore my tune changes.

Well sure. LAC has played the Chiefs tough the last few times out. But their QB play hasn't been part of the problem for the Chiefs. Combine the bit about coaching, and LAC is really outclassed, a far as the Chiefs are concerned.

But let's not misunderstand; I'm not saying that when KC plays LAC in week 17 that it'll be a cakewalk. Just saying that they really aren't serious contenders yet, from a skill and coaching standpoint. They don't scare anyone, in other words, but that doesn't mean they can't win. But if the Chiefs come out and play to their average or slightly better, it's unlikely LAC will be able to keep up.

Against NOR, KC's average keeps NOR in the game. The Chiefs will have to play better than their average to win.

That's basically what I meant.

It's still Cleveland vs. the Steelers.

Cleveland has a lot to prove.

Thank you sir. I’m at fault for not double checking Max Kellerman and Steven A. Smith’s comments on First Take yesterday about Pittsburgh winning the tiebreaker.
