****Official Golf Thread****

The original Bushwood thread is overflowing like Craig Stadler's FUPA.

Use this thread to discuss tournaments, swing thoughts, equipment, and golf deals.

I thought we could also use the OP to create a WITB for ChiefsPlanet members. I'll list a poster's name and put their sticks in a spoiler tag, so you can see what everyone is carrying.

Won by 12 shots and there were only 16 guys under par (in comparison to 32 guys this week). Young Tiger Woods was an amazing thing.

Yeah, but it basically plays as long as it did then due to the improvements in ball and club technology, and Tiger-Proofing the course only made it easier for Tiger. It was never Tiger-Proofing as much as Tiger-Optimizing.

The multilayer ball allows pros to pound the ball off the tee because it doesn't spin much on driver hits and still generate enough spin to stop it on greens like Augusta's.

Shooting 270 with a Titleist Tour Balata and a King Cobra 190cc steel headed driver w/ a DG-X100 shaft is worlds apart.

Same scope though, ability to condition the course has changed as well. Greens mowed less than .100" with tournament knives today were mowed .125" and above. Sub-aire systems etc.

Not really. Augusta has been mowed at 1/8" for years, and they had a prototype of the Sub-Air system back in the late 90s.

Great week for Spieth but that was the worst Masters in history.

I wouldn't say that. There have been some total clunkers over the years. Hell, this year was better than '14, which contained very little drama and featured a champion who is a first ballot to the asshole HOF.

2007 and 2008 were awful, too. Trevor Immelman, who will go down as one of the worst major champions of all-time, winning by three shots after shooting 75. Total puke.

It was a two-shot win and Johnson finished ahead of the final group, which meant that the tournament was over before the leaders even hit their tee balls on 18.

Not only that, but it tied the highest winning score in the tournament's history. It was almost like watching a US Open without the grind and brutality, just the pars.

Yes. But that's just me. But she better understand that her man has options, so no saying no...

To get close to Tiger's performance, Spieth would have needed to shoot around 265.
I agree the coverage was pitiful...but couldnt disagree more with the rest of your post.

It sounded like Nance and Faldo had lost their puppy dog as Tiger struggled and Speith didnt fold. Rory shot a 66 but no one would know that until 18 because CBS didnt show a single shot of Rory's on the back nine, yet every single Tiger shot made it into the show while shooting a 73.

18 under is 18 under...IDGAF if it was 1997 or 2015.
